Anyone?  ???

Haven't seen him play but sincerely doubt that at only 20yrs old the lad will be the answer or even part of the answer to our current defensive problems.

If we sign this kid, I hope he'll be a replacement for Coates/Skrtel, rather then a replacement for Carra. Nothing but the best that we can afford will do as a replacement for Jamie. The Greek should be on top of our list, but if we can't get him, I wouldn't mind a name like de Vrij.

The Liverpool Echo reporting our interest in Ilori as fact.

Liverpool FC will attempt to bring Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori to Anfield this summer.

The Reds have had the 20-year-old centre-back watched on a number of occasions and believe he has the qualities required to shine in the Premier League.

The Portuguese outfit are desperate to keep hold of Ilori, who has established himself as a first-team regular in recent months. However, their financial problems means they are under pressure to sell their prized assets.

London-born Ilori joined Sporting’s Academy in 2006 and has represented Portugal at under-20 level. He’s blessed with great pace and at 6ft 3ins is dominant in the air.

Liverpool have yet to submit a bid for Ilori, who has also attracted interest from Valencia. Ilori is viewed as one for the future rather than a direct replacement for retiring vice-captain Jamie Carragher.

There is no truth in speculation that the Reds are planning a move for Lyon’s Croatian defender Dejan Lovren.

Barcelona probably do have Reina on their shortlist to replace Valdes and if they make a move he will go. But I can’t see Tello wanting to leave or Barcelona wanting to get rid of him. He’s a still a youngish player who came through the academy, signed a new contract in the summer and has had a decent amount of football this year.

Wouldn't mind get Sanchez off them for Reina.

No to Tello.

I like that Pantilimon at City but not many others do it seems, big lad and good age with room
for improvement, and looking for a move.

Great Dane: Christian Eriksen will snub Liverpool unless they make £15m offer in next month
18 May 2013 23:00

Ajax sensation is concerned Brendan Rodgers is dragging his heels after initial interest

Liverpool target Christian Eriksen will snub the Kop and sign a new contract at Ajax if Brendan Rodgers does not make a £15million offer in the next month, writes the Sunday People.

Danish dazzler Eriksen is keen on a move to Anfield, with the Reds on his trail for the past few months and battling Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund for his signature. However Eriksen’s camp has revealed that the attacking midfielder is set to sign a new Ajax deal because of ‘mixed messages’ from Merseyside.

A source close to Eriksen said: “One minute there was a concrete interest and Liverpool were willing to pay the fee, but now they are taking their time.”

Rodgers is weighing up the market before making a firm bid for a player who is one of the brightest talents in Europe – but also similar in style to some of his other players.

The Dane is willing to commit to Ajax if he does not get the answer he wants from Liverpool – or Dortmund.

Kop boss Rodgers is desperate to persuade Tottenham to sell him England Under-21 left-back Danny Rose.

Rose enjoyed a successful season-long loan at Sunderland but has yet to hear whether Spurs intend to make him their first-choice left-back next season.

Rodgers is willing to off-load left-back Jose Enrique to fund a move for Rose.

Didn't realise Eriksen was prepared to come to us, I hope we don't fk this up the fella's easily worth the £15 million quoted.

I think he has gone off the boil a lot recently and i wouldnt see his signing as a priority. Think before we splurge £15mil on another midfielder we should be looking to strengthen the back line and getting in a strong DM. Erikson is a decent prospect but certainly no better than Coutinho

Not sure how many Ajax games you've watched that makes you think "he's gone of the boil recently", he's scored three times in the his last six league games, not a bad ratio for a midfielder .

I agree position wise it's maybe not a priority but when a player of his quality is prepared to join the club for what in market terms is a pretty reasonable price it's an opportunity that imo should be taken.

From the pretty reliable Macca..

Looks like Pepe is going, 95% sure..

I think its a big mistake, what does everyone else think?

I have no idea who his replacement is...

Cheers Macca

that macca lad is a plonker tbh and its fairly safe assuming pepe will go to barca.
personally id rather we kept pepe but i dont think rodgers wants to and will let him leave.
this was always my fear with rodgers and how he will conduct transfers.

I think swapping Enrique for Rose wouldn't be that bad.

As for Erikson - last summer he was being courted by all the big names for fees close to £30mil - this season he has flattened a bit in terms of his play. We already have better with Coutinho who should play exactly where Erikson will play.

that would be a bad deal for us imo. we need to hold on to our experienced players and while enrique has his flaws going forward he is an excellent defender and shielder of the ball. we will miss that if he goes.
danny rose is very much unproven and rodgers would be wise to hold on to enrique for at least another season. we dont have any decent cover for LB so rose as back up would be good but not as a replacement  :no

Completely understandable why we're sending mixed messages to Eriksen- his position isn't the place where we need urgent improvement, especially not with Coutinho this way. But Eriksen is one of the best young talents playing in his position, and it's really tempting when such a talent wants to sign with us, even though we don't need him that much. I'd rather we concentrated our effort and money on buying a more defensive midfielder rather than an attacking one, but you won't see me complaining if we signed Eriksen.

But I might complain if we sold Enrique.
