I fear we may not ever see him play for the first team. Seems to be a trend of us signing the next Messi then thats the last we hear of them.

Some of the names been rumoured lately for defensive positions...

Lille defender Lucas Digne
Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol
Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori

we have had a huge amount of youth that signs for us and we never ever get to see them. there are exceptions of course but on the whole the amount of talent that does not pass to the first team is a lot.

Yes that's usually right Lee, yet RODGERS played the likes of Suso and Sterling. 

And that's the same with every club

Its why youth players regulary arrive and depart.

Or he could be like Suso etc - it's a little early to state either way ( hasnt even been signed yet ). Yesil is another example

He is quality, and a beast of a lad for his age.

We'd be bullied out of the market for him if he became available - he's very highly rated and CL clubs with more money would be in for him.

I think Papadopoulos is a realistic target, despite the fact that he's a wanted player. He won't be cheap though.

if he aint cheap, he aint coming here
anyway he was strongly linked with the chavs a while ago and if they are in the running we have no chance of getting him.

I think the price shouldn't matter because CB is the position we need the most urgent improvement. As long as it isn't something ridiculous like 20mil plus. About 15mil should be enough I think. If we get those money from just the sale of Carroll, I'd immediately spend the whole sum on a CB.

The problem is the fact that he's a wanted player by the top clubs. But considering that he rejected a move to AC Milan last season despite the fact that Milan are a big club and they offered him a lot of money, he might not be your usual mercenary, so we might have a chance.
