Tello, Sahin, Walcott all being mentioned. Gaston as well.
If the price is right who is/are the best fit?

i`d just have that sahin, gone off ramirez a bit after seeing him in the olympics and i dont want walcott.
that tello on loan maybe but i dont like the way barcelona are saying if the moneys right a permanent deal could be done. in terms of players that come through their ranks barcelona seem to be good judges on who to move on and who to keep. if the lad played for malaga or betis i doubt ayone would be @rsed.
he`s played what? 12 games? i`d rather give sterling the game time.
that sahin looks a really good player though, he could make a difference to us, i`d move heaven and earth to sign him and forget about the others.

Would definitely take Sahin and Walcott. If we can bring those two in and keep Agger..great window!

With Tony Barrett and Ballague both in on the Tello/ Sahin rumours, we must be hopeful of at least one of the two. With Sahin, it sounds like the player is happy to come here but we need to resolve the situation with Madrid. With Tello, it sounds like Barca are happy with a loan deal but the player is less keen about moving abroad.

We'll see on both. I would be very surprised if the Walcott deal were to happen.

Other rumour I've seen today is Adam in a Dempsey deal - I guess Fulham have lost several CM's, so they might be happy with that kind of deal. I'm not convinced that is actually in the pipeline though. Also, Ramirez wants putting to bed (for my money).

Agreed Sahin looks a very good player. he got player of the year in German Bundesliga season before last - no mean feat ... so im wondering where exactly would he fit into Rodgers team? Does he play in the middle three in front of lucas and allen or does he play as one of our wide players? wide right perhaps? it would seem his most natural position would be in front of lucas and allen but if so what about SG? surely we have enough in the middle at this stage? Any ideas how he'd fit into our team?

As for Tello he looks greedy and blinkered in some of the clips on the net - find it hard to believe he'd be in Rodgers thinking. As one or two others on here have pointed out id be happy to see Sterling prioritised over this Tello lad.

i would think sahin would play in front of lucas and allen mate, someone with his vision and range of passing would be wasted playing wide, gerrard would then move alongside suarez and borini (or downing / carroll / sterling or whoever) in the front line.
i think thats probably gerrards best position anyway, especially at this stage of his career, up front he can link up with luis (they seem to be getting a bit of an understanding going) create goals and of course score a few goals as well without putting in the type of shift he`d have to do if he was playing in the centre of the park. now he is in his 30`s it`s pointless wasting gerrards energy chasing back to the edge of our box tracking runners etc.
agree about that tello, him not apparently being keen on moving abroad is another reason why we should just forget about signing him, odds are he`s going to end up homesick at some point.

He must be dying to leave Madrid, they were playing him as cover for the left back. Hopefully we can get in there ahead of spurs and arsenal, he'll be a big addition.

Tello is a young player that still has a lot to prove. Also, I don't think the PL will suit him. He's very similar to Pacheco and Sterling so I think I would rather give them a chance. But if we're getting him for little money we might give it a try.

Ramirez is too expensive. The money they're asking for him don't match his ability, not even close.

Walcott is a good player and I believe he'll be a good addition to our squad. His good performance isn't constant, but if the money is right I wouldn't think twice about signing him. Don't know how much Arsenal would want, but he'll be asking a lot in wages. If he asks for too much I don't want him, but then again I'd rather pay him those money than give it to Joe Cole.

And as for Sahin. First of, he doesn't play as an attacking midfielder like you people suggest, and he definitely doesn't play wide. He plays behind the attacking midfielder, like Lucas and Allen would. I think he is a good player that wouldn't cost a lot of money, but I was just wondering why the hell do we need him? Don't we have enough midfielders? We're short on wide players and that's where we should concentrate.

i hate this "he wouldn't suit the premier league" argument based on a players supposed lack of physical strength. it's a load of nonsense. i bet people were saying the same when silva went to man city.

It's not just that. The style of play in the PL is very different from the other leagues.

The contact has gone out of the game anyway and the Premier League is no different, even the
lower leagues often employ technicians now ahead of power, the games changed.

Thing is Liverpool havent changed at all and Rodgers has been given the job of doing exactly that
and to get us playing a modern and effective style of football.

Half the reason we havent been looking at these more technical foreign players was because
our system and thinking was antiquated and with a beleif these boys couldnt hack it in our
league, but its simply not true and we are now trying to put that right and catch up the
opposition by getting some in.

Sahin looks a good player but now that we've signed Allen I can't see that we've got room for him. As far as I can tell he's not an attacking midfielder so that dispels the argument that he's being bought as cover for Gerrard.  Our midfield 3 are likely to be Lucas, Allen & Gerrard with Gerrard pushing up and the front three are likely to be Borini, Suarez & Downing. Personally I think we should  be concentrating on getting another wide player/forward
