Also remember that we have quite a few youngsters coming up the ranks.
In any case the new manager has my full backing at the moment as he should have from all fans.

Oxymoron.

Errr I haven't attacked the manager in any way so I really don't know what you are raving on about.

What part of the signings equation are you missing lad? The calibre of players our opponents are signing Chelsea (ie. Hazard and Oscar), Man United (Lucas), Man City (with almost every talented player on the planet starting with RVP) and Arsenal (Podolski) now have a look at the 'spare change' players we have been linked to, it makes very very sad reading IF INDEED TRUE.

No one is rushing Rodgers to make anymore 'balls up' signings but we need to begin signing quality. We have lived in an era of squad players and enough is enough, if we don't have the money to sign these players then the fingers need to be pointed at the owners rather then our newly appointed manager. It is as clear as day we need to find quality in the middle of the park and upfront RIGHT NOW, not next season or in a few years. If Downing, Adam and Henderson are surplus to requirements, then so be it lets get rid of them ASAP, no point in holding on to them if Rodgers wants us to play in particular way. Have you already forgotten how long it took to get rid of the dead wood in the Houllier and Benitez days.

This is not an issue of questioning our loyalty to Rodgers, it has nothing to do with that, it is about asking what type of a club we are and were our ambitions lie in chasing titles for the next decade and on.

Had another text this morning saying our targets remain Borini, Joe Allen and Dempsey.

It also said Bellamy is going back to Cardiff as his wife is wanting to move back home.

The last part of the text said RIP the 9, i assume meaning Carroll  :(

I would be immensely disappointed if Bellamy left. The club needs players like Bellamy. Players like McClair, Cantona, Keane, Vieira, etc were all hot heads but you need players like that with the never say die attitude to be successful, to remind the players around them who they are playing for. Downing, Adam, Spearing and Eccleston should be the ones leaving before him IMO.

As for Dempsey, I rather see Callejon or Tello. I don't rate him, and feel that he's just a 1 season wonder. Doubt the move for Joe Allen will go through though, didn't BR have an agreement with Swansea that he won't be signing their players? Of course the agreement could be broken if the offer was a substantial one which would help Laudrup buy more players of his choices.

Not too sure about Borini, never say him play.

and how much have you seen of him playing exactly apart from snippets on tv? i hate this notion that players aren't good enough for us because of where they come from. they are either good enough for us or they aren't. we signed players from lower clubs under rafa (bellamy, crouch, benayoun, pennant) so we have a history of it. when have we ever had a tradition of buying from big clubs? as far as i can remember, we never have.

at this moment in time, allen is a better player than both shelvey and henderson and i'd have him over adam anyday of the week aswell.

Yes we did st.mich, but then how long did these players stay out our club? did we end up winning the league as a result?

We are doing this over and over again, signing players who look ''exciting'' and ''excellent players'' but then turn out to be complete dissapointments.

MH,  you could hardly get excited about Henderson or Downing or Carroll even from their YouTube videos let alone seeing them play day in and day out.

Henderson- on YouTube, a few goals nothing special, never beat a player, never ran past another, never gave a nice through ball, no long passes. If you can't make at least a player look good on YouTube, there's little chane they will turn out good. Even from his games I felt that the guy lacked positioning skills. He seems anonymous in most games I saw him play before he joined Liverpool.

AC On YouTube- A few goals from long distance, a few goals from headers. No traditional through ball, making good runs, getting goals the way strikers do in general.

If YouTube can tell anything about a player- its that they're not good enough.

I haven't focused on joe Allen or watched borini play, but at least joe Allen looks like he loves to run past players in speed, and make through balls, and a few long passes. I'm not saying anything more Until I see him play but at least YouTube doesn't reject the kid, for me. Same for borini. And about Dempsey, I've always liked what I saw. In fact, I'm always happy if we buy players who have pod skill on the ball. What then makes them special is a good team. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule ala Gerard

I would invest the time and efforts into Shelvey.
