Andy Carroll signs for West Ham

The Premiership - General Discussion

Well this is a surprise. I doubt it will happen but it just illustrates how wrong people were about Carroll that given his performances in the Euros at at the end of last season that he's being linked with Milan.

If a bid does materialise this should tell us somerthing about how serious FSG are in keeping Liverpool's best players.

He's improved immensely since his early days but he's still got it all to do be a proven success. That point will come when he's consistently scoring, say, 15+ league goals a season and making a contribution to the team in other ways that are conducive to a successful style of play. One of the reasons we should be looking to sign another striker is precisely because it may take him a season or two yet to reach that point, another being that we need cover for that position just in case of injuries as well as a different kind of option.

KKs biggest mistake, which ultimately was a part of his downfall, was not playing Carroll enough. Especially in the fa cup final.
Let's hope B-Rod doesn't make the same mistake...

One of the lads was at Melwood and asked Mr Rodgers if he liked the name "B-Rod"?
He said "sure do buddy, it's awesome"

If I was making the decisions, I wouldn't conduct any business of any description with these hard faced cunts .

If Milan wants him, I'd sell him in a snap and laugh all the way to the bank just like Newcastle did when we bought him...

Queue Benny saying I'm not a true fan... :p

Ac milan want him on loan which straight away is a no. I want to keep the guy let alone let him go on loan. He is still young gaining confidence and starting to know where his football future lies.

Carroll starts of the season with a goal he could be a great tool in a fantastic season for us next year. We need to establish a partnership with him and Suarez which i strongly believe could be deadly given the right support.

This doesn't look good for Carroll based on what BR said at the press conference today about him being linked with other clubs. When he was then asked the specific question about Carroll and his plans he didn't give a reassurance about the player and said he was still looking at the squad and what he needed for the season ahead.

I think he probably will go unfortunately. I'll be disappointed in all honesty if he does get sold given the confidence that Kenny had in him for the long term and with the way he finished last season and scoring that goal in the Euros.

I'm not convinced about Borini replacing Carroll as the first choice with Suarez. It's ok to go with another striker in squad terms to complement Carroll and Suarez but I don't agree with changing the strike force again in terms of selling Carroll. I think BR will be making quite a mistake if he sells Carroll.

Carroll isnt going anywhere, Milan seem to want to loan him and i dont think we would sell him for under 20 million and i cant see a club coughing that up yet.
