A lot of people are saying god no ! but why not? look at how he got Wigan playing. He got his team playing brilliant football, beating the top teams and kept Wigan up. What more do people want? We have gone with the more experienced managers and it hasn't worked, so why not go for Martinez?
be honest and tell us then what you thought of martinez before christmas?.
if his team was playing brilliant football then why were they involved in relegation battles in the last 3 years with martinez at the helm?.
what do you think realistically we will achieve with him being our manager?.
Honestly? I really didn't take any notice. But as for the relegation battle, they are Wigan, they are one of the teams you expect to be battling relegation. If we appoint him I will be pleased. I think it will be a good move, no he hasn't got the experience but like I said, we have had experience in charge and that hasn't worked out great either. Im all for the move.
thats exactly it and you wernt alone either as no one noticed him.the fact that he has beaten a few top teams to save wigan from relegation over the last 2 months is what has him flavour of the month.
it doesnt really matter what club it is as the other clubs that got relegated or almost did, spent nothing either.there is only 5-6 clubs in the prem league that do spend and the rest dont.everton, westbrom, bolton, blackburn, wolves, villa, etc etc spend fook all and most of them dont have the backing of a wealthy sports chain.
he does come across as a likeable guy but that isnt good enough alone to get this job and as he doesnt have any winning experience or a winning mentality imo.he might build us a side over the next 3-4 years with the right financial backing but we dont know that and putting him in the hotseat now is like walking in to the local bookies and slapping your wages on a random nag because you like the look of him.
we are not in a position to gamble and so many of our fans complain of mediocrity but are willing to give this lad a shot for the sake of it.
im not against martinez but i am against the club gambling on this.
