martinez is a cracking fella but no way on earth should he be getting interviewed for the liverpool job, he needs to be successful with a villa or a newcastle first.
he may be a good manager in the future but the step between a wigan and a liverpool is too big.
that goes for the likes of rodgers and lambert as well.
ffs sake come home rafa the club needs you.

Martinez, why not? A lot of people are saying god no ! but why not? look at how he got Wigan playing. He got his team playing brilliant football, beating the top teams and kept Wigan up. What more do people want? We have gone with the more experienced managers and it hasn't worked, so why not go for Martinez?

wigan are the biggest club he`s ever managed, their rugby team gets bigger crowds than their footy team, he has never won anything, he hasnt even won a johnsons paint trophy, he didnt even get swansea promoted, they reached the play offs once.
that is not the CV of a liverpool manager in the modern age.

he's not my first choice, but he'd represent a fresh and new approach. So i would back him

be honest and tell us then what you thought of martinez before christmas?.
if his team was playing brilliant football then why were they involved in relegation battles in the last 3 years with martinez at the helm?.
what do you think realistically we will achieve with him being our manager?.

Martinez seems to be a decent enough guy with an affable disposition ,but I simply don't see him as the money grabbing mercenary the owners want .
They need someone thick skinned who will simply walk away with another huge pay off with no regrets when he fails to get us into the top four.

Martinez like Dalglish is way too genuine for this new owners team  :no

It looks as though Martinez will be our next manager.

I think he won the league one title with swansea.

Honestly? I really didn't take any notice. But as for the relegation battle, they are Wigan, they are one of the teams you expect to be battling relegation. If we appoint him I will be pleased. I think it will be a good move, no he hasn't got the experience but like I said, we have had experience in charge and that hasn't worked out great either. Im all for the move.

Dude - they're in relegation battle because they are a tiny club that spends no money. The days when Steve Bruce used to talk uncle Dave into loosening the purse strings to buy half a dozen nameless South Americans for multi millions is long gone

i suppose if we are struggling he can always phone him up for advice, i expect suarez to be gone soon after ferguson has a word with martinez.

So what if he attends LMA meetings along with most other managers? He actually publically supported Rafa during his spat with Fergie.
