I have a good feeling about him.

Hes a 21st century manager, progressive, confident, tactically astute, and plays good football. He comes across very well in interviews, knows exactly what he wants to do. He also knows the premiership inside out (unlike AVB for instance). We have always had a hard time against his sides.

The one thing he doesnt have is pedigree which i requested, so obviously this is a gamble. But it just may turn out to be an inspired choice.

The key thing is signings... and the one thing that gives hope is his knowlegde of latin America/Spain.. where he has brought in some quality additions on a shoestring. With more money he will be able to bring in even better.

He has two good months every season and manages to keep them up

Both Bruce and Jewell did better with Wigan

Can't believe they are looking at Martinez.  Look at how we've battered and dominated Wigan the past couple of years.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

He would not be my choice personally but way I look at it is if its meant to
be it will work and if not he will be fired like Kenny was. Thats the way we
will operate now.

Sometimes I think these things are almost fated and you can hire the very best
and it just doesnt work out.

Big big gamble on this lad if he gets the job but then again Wenger was recruited
as an unknown from the Japenese League and look what happended there.

I like Martinez as a guy, hes impressive, but Liverpool is a massive challenge for him
certainly, but you never know, he may surprise us.

Lets see what develops.

I find it a bit harsh people saying Martinez relegation fighter etc, If we  put Mourinho or Ferguson in charge of Wigan would they get more than Mid table with that team, of course not, that's not to say I think it's the right move for Martinez or us, Martinez will become a very good manager in the future I'm sure of that but it's one hell of a gamble right now.

Let's go for the man who has become an adopted scouser who only lives about 10 miles away and who with the right backing will bring us some qwality players

Raffaaaa Rafffaelll, Rafael Benitez!!!!!....

He could have Roberto Martinez as his number 2.

tactically astute? is that because he plays 3-4-3?

oh and yeah he's polite in interviews unlike kenny. another great reason to employ him. ???

Well, I'd love Rafa back, but I don't want the infighting as many supporters doesn't appreciate what he did.
I'll not judge any new manager until I see what he does in terms of players and tactics.
