The Premiership - General Discussion

Thompson... the term fickle means changing ones views frequently... flip flop... win one week "yeah we're gonna win the league".. lose next week "we are garbage".

I've been consistent with my assessment on Carroll. He was dreadful for a year, which i related, improved a tad from January, and suddenly in his last two games he has looked a different player. Calling a spade a spade is not being fickle. The lad was a donkey in a red jersey for over a year... every comment i have stated reflected his performance. The only humble pie i will be eating is for not thinking he could one day become a quality player, not for anything i have previously stated. Such is the turnaround in his performance that only two weeks ago, in a BBC discussion, he was not chosen among the squad to go to the Euros. Five days ago he was left out of the team for the FA Cup final, with Jay Spearing picked in preference. We are talking about a sudden transformation here.

Nice try babes.
I have always said you were an intelligent person who talked sh'ite
Fickle: likely to change, especially due to caprice, irresolution, or instability; casually changeable
Caprice: a sudden, unpredictable change, as of one's mind or the weather.
I agree you have been consistent in your opinion of Carroll's ability. What you fail to say is that you have also been consistent in your absolute insistence that he fu'ck off asap due to his lack of ability. Certain people, including me, told you time and again that youd got it wrong and Carroll should stay because he would prove his worth if he was given time and patience. This has been happening since he was ridiculed by the geordies, although we have had flashes of his skill throughout the season. KK fu'cked up royally by not playing him in the final. Why he made that disastrous decision we may never know, but I hope he learns from that crucial mistake, especially if it was made by taking notice to the bbc or any other ignorant knobs.
The main diference between you and I, besides our gender, is that I dont give an evertonian what others say, I make my own mind up on what I see and what I know. This proves that you havent got a Fu*king clue and prefer to let others influence your misguided opinion.
You may well get the better of those around you with your articulate and clever words but Im too old and too wise to be kidded by the likes of a tit like you

D_C A lot of us accepted that Carroll was finding life difficult and backed off with idiotic and unnecessary criticism. Your vile and continuous criticism of Andy has been utterly shameful and I find it impossible to believe that you really are a genuine supporter.I certainly would not agree with Thomo's assessment that you are intelligent. In fact I believe the reverse is true. Your recent posts suggest you really are a bit of a clown.

It was clear to see from Carroll's first six months in the Premier League that was a talented footballer, unfortunately it has taken him a year-and-a-half to produce the goods. I hope he can continue this rich vein of form next season.

It is staggering that a potentially career ending tackle can not be further investigated or punished after the game because he was yellow carded. Am I correct on this? Do dangerous play rules allow the FA to do anything?

100% correct. Another Wild E Coyote scheme from the FA designed to apparently protect the integrity of their referees, but just leaves their whole organization looking like a laughing stock to anyone with an ounce of common sense

thats a nasty tackle in any era.
carroll just got straight up as well (because it was from behind he probably thought essien had clumsily run into the back of him and there had been a tangle of legs or something). he was very lucky not to be badly injured, look at carrolls left ankle, as essiens feet slide down carrolls calf his weight comes down on andys ankle and forces it downwards, lucky he never tore ankle ligaments there.

I can just see the headlines in the Daily Fail if Andy had suffered a ridiculous  injury like Eduardo .

DIRTY BASTARD OR MISUNDERSTOOD SURGEON ?
MICHAEL ESSIEN

If Andy had suffered a career threatening injury the video evidence alone would have banned this twisted cunt for life  :no

i'm going to go a bit against the grain here and suggest that essien wasn't in any way trying to deliberately injure carroll. it looks nasty for sure, and was clumsy to put it mildly, and could easily have ended in a broken leg. but look at carroll when essien starts his lunge - he's not actually in front of or shielding the ball at all. by the time essien is in mid air carroll has put his left leg out and essien even looks like he's trying to adjust a little to pull out. despite whether there was any intention or not it should have been a straight red for being badly timed and dangerous play.

essien has previous as we all know, and can be a dirty fecker. but seeing as his own form and capability has fallen since a couple of horrific injuries of his own, i doubt that he'd go in to deliberately injure another professional so badly. i'm probably going to get dog's for this but its the way i see it.

Ya I agree.  He was going to the side of Carroll and then Carroll moved in font of him.  It's still 100% a red card, but I don't think he was trying to injure him.

I took a video of this on my phone to show m brother, and nobody had really said anything about it.  One of the nastiest challenges I've ever seen to be honest.
