It would appear that his display when he came off the bench in the Cup final has lifted the weight off his shoulders as he looks much more content. Moving much better also.
Its the best i've seen him by a mile, and he does look a real handful. Terrorized their backline. Keeps doing that humble pie will be gladly eaten.
The main reservation i have (and have always had) is does he compliment Suarez? Was there much interplay between the two? Suarez is a keep it on the floor player, and likes to link up with fast attacking play.. one twos, interplay..the manner inwhich he does with similar type players with Uruguay.
The aerial stuff is a good alternative.. especially when he plays like that. He has to maintain this and kick on now.
We need to sign a clinical #9 to finish off moves in tight games.... and with Suarez and Carroll (maintaining the form he showed tonight) that would see us well equipped upfront.

So the £35 million donkey -flop should stay now?
How fickle you are...

It's a pity he's hit such form just as the season comes to a close (). Can only now look forward and hope to see the big fella carry it over into next season.
A slice of humble pie will be well worth the eating if he continues to terrorise defenders like he did last night.

His season has started late. Through can pretty much write off the first half of the season as he clearly wasn't fit and still settling in. Being on the bench a lot means he hardly broke a sweat in the middle of the season.
Going to the euros would, in my opinion, give him an opportunity to continue his good form. Allowing us to benefit from a sharp and motivated forward at the start of next season. The last thing I want is to lose the momentum he clearly is having now.

Was just thinking the same thing, Woof, about hitting form as the season wraps up. Bad timing because this lad has the bit between his teeth now and finally looks like he believes he belongs in a Liverpool shirt. I hope he gets selected for England and carries this form over to Poland/Ukraine. He's clearly got the physical presence and skills to be a beast of a player. He's just lacked the belief until recently. A good end of season and especially some excellent FA Cup performances will have gone some way to instilling that belief. A strong showing with England will take it to another level and stand him in good stead for next season.

Thompson... the term fickle means changing ones views frequently... flip flop... win one week "yeah we're gonna win the league".. lose next week "we are garbage".
I've been consistent with my assessment on Carroll. He was dreadful for a year, which i related, improved a tad from January, and suddenly in his last two games he has looked a different player. Calling a spade a spade is not being fickle. The lad was a donkey in a red jersey for over a year... every comment i have stated reflected his performance. The only humble pie i will be eating is for not thinking he could one day become a quality player, not for anything i have previously stated. Such is the turnaround in his performance that only two weeks ago, in a BBC discussion, he was not chosen among the squad to go to the Euros. Five days ago he was left out of the team for the FA Cup final, with Jay Spearing picked in preference. We are talking about a sudden transformation here.
