There is so much Doom and Gloom around here lately I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can all put some positive thoughts in. Nothing negatove allowed!!!!

We are making more chances than anyone else in the league
Our defence looks solid
Kenny Dalglish is the manager of the club
Stevie G is back... it could be the best "new" player to come in Jan
We have owners who are prepared to back our manager and do the required business behind closed doors
We've won it 5 times
I'm thankful that I don't support Everton

1. I was out all day yesterday on the ale and I havent got a hangover
2. The other half and my daughter have gone to the trafford centre for the day
3. Im home alone on the couch watching LFC TV eating a roast pork sandwich

I genuinely don't see where all of the doom and gloom comes from.

We're a far better footballing outfit than this time two years ago. We're playing well, the performances are there and if the goals were a few inches wider we'd be well on our way to a CL place next season. Luck simply hasn't been on our side this half of the season. The sides fighting with us for fourth have also been very inconsistent but we've yet to play them at home so it's still all to play for

Obviously Andy's the big talking point and he hasn't been performing so he hasn't been playing much recently. if he wants his place he'll earn it, no problems there either imo, the only real dilemma is where he fits and how to get the best out of him (even them thats not a particularly doom and gloom issue, more a genuine football debate)

Owners have been great so far and Kenny's the man. I'm interested to see how we handle ourselves in january

The major positive from my point of view is we are one step away from Wembley, and a major trophy... which is why the semi is our most important games of the season. Since this is a positive thread i shall not mention concerns about who we will be playing upfront in those games. Steven hopefully will be ready to start (or feature heavily in the 1st leg)

I thought Shearer made a good point on MOTD the other night (wonders will never cease). I'd be more worried if we weren't creating the chances. This time last year I was watching us under Hodgson and it was utterly dire week in week out. In a majority of games, especially away from home we didn't even have a shot on goal.

Obviously finishing is the main problem but we have the chance to address that in January. I have no qualms about the defence but we still need a top class defensive midfielder to replace Lucas imo. Nobody we have can fill in for him in an adequate manner.

Somebody is due a spanking soon though. :angry:

That the club as a whole is on a far more stable footing for future long-term success than at any time in the recent past. We're a certain work-in-progress on the pitch, but at least we are that and not a club destined for administration or mid-table finishes. Languishing at the bottom half of the table and getting beat by teams of plumbers, electricians, barmaids etc.. is never acceptable whereas drawing at home against the likes of Blackburn and Norwich and still managing to stay within touching distance of fourth is pretty good going.

It was never likely that we would just suddenly shoot up to the top of the league having suffered from years of mis-management on and off the pitch and if people don't notice the difference in our performances between this season and previous recent seasons, then they may as well all just go and support Man City, otherwise they will never be satisfied.

In terms of signings, there is thus far a clear divide between the successful and the not-so-successful ones, but for the sake of being positive, Enrique, Suarez and Bellamy have all proven exceptionally good value. My pick of the three would also be Enrique because he's such a solid player in both defence and attack. In fact, I'd say he's worked that left side better than anyone in the team, putting in more good crosses and having as many good attempts on goal than even Downing who was signed to do just that. Awesome signing.

Reason to be positive, we are getting better and better every game and creating enough chances to win easily, all we need is either Carrol to remember how to score or a backup established striker who does. I still think 4th place is ours and maybe even 3rd but we HAVE to start scoring some bloody goals!
