I like Meiriles, but he should never be played as a right winger...

that's because he's NOT a right winger. However, saying that, he does a decent job of defending the right flank, but his best position is the centre of the park

just think we could have kept Riera and he might have been played properly...

Some players can handle different positions, some really can't.. and shouldnt have to.

I think weve all been screaming for Meireles to be played where he was, and it works

Agreed. It worked vs Chelsea as he is mobile enough to stop Cole from bombing forward.

On saturday in CM he was always looking for the ball and had plenty of space to play in. main reason being WH were pants but also probably because he had more freedom with gerrard in the stands.

the thing is, you'd think that him and lucas in the centre would be more than a match for spurs physically next weekend, especially if spurs go in with the same midfield as they did against arsenal (modric, jenas). they couldn't tackle a dinner between them.

the problem is, with the way we play away from home they're both inclined to just sit off and not affect our play in any positive way in an attacking sense.

Brilliant today, he and Lucas bossed the midfield, quality passing all over the pitch and should have got a goal as well with a shot in the 2nd half

impressed!!! last two games he has shown his true quality

He played very well and is improving every game. Just hope he should shoot more as he really got a wicked shot from both his left and right foot.

Lets hope he is allowed to play in the center where he belongs.

I think 4-4-2 suites Raul better than the 4-5-1, it gets the best out of him and he plays more of a box to box role. It was evident yesterday in how he kept the tempo going. When Gerrard comes back into the side, I really hope he keeps playing Meireles in the center and not on the right!

play Merieles when Gerrard in the middle. Or, move Gerrard to the right and play someone else aside him. He's too good to leave out or push wide.

I think we all know what we would want to happen - but it if the manager follows suit - he hasnt done so far . Gerrard isnt going to be pushed wide - he will be in the middle .
