16000 police on the street tonight apparently.

That's massive, and if it's not enough to curb these :censored:

then the army is needed. Mind you do we have that many soldiers in this country?

Teargas would be ace ! As would a battle charge of police armed with tasers, would be so funny

I would think that if the police aren't capable of containing a bunch of kids wrecking the joint, and if there are indeed a lack of army to call on, then it would show just how weakened your armed forces are due to having them stationed abroad in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. The thing is, I've recently seen the British army over here organising for potential riots which break out almost every summer. So you have to ask the question, that if a watered down army presence in the north of Ireland can be organised, then why not in their own mainland?

Not heard anything about Newcastle so far mate but will keep you posted. So it looks like most of the trouble is going to be in Manchester tonight and not in London.
