Take it Flanagan and Robinson would also both have usually been in ?
although that's no excuse.

They just wanted it more mate ...looks like the titles going to the Bitterz ,we were just outfought .

Its a shame that but winning the league or top players coming through ?
If it was a choice i know what we all would choose.

Definitely the latter ...Robinson and Flanagan were missed ,but they're moving up the ladder ...soon they will be without Sterling and Coady ...as soon as they are integrated into the first team ..
things are definitely looking better for the future

Yep, at this level winning games comes second to developing players. Good to have a winning youth set up, better to have players coming into the first team. Nice to have a bit of both right now.

Shame the lads have probably missed out on winning their group but it's all about players coming through the ranks and if their first few performances are anything to go by, Flanagan and Robinson are here to stay for many years. Add those two to Kelly and Spearing + I also expect Sterling to make his breakthrough next season and things are looking up.

Liverpool will send a youth team to participate "The HKFC International Soccer 7s"
http://www.hksoccersevens.com/en/teams/main-tournament
Main Tournament:
Pool A: Celtic, Liverpool, Hong Kong u18s, Yau Yee League Select.
Pool B: Rangers, Boca Juniors, Hong Kong u21s, Singapore Cricket Club.
Pool C: Aston Villa, Citizen, Eastleigh, HKFC Captain's Select.
Pool D: Ajax, Kitchee, Etoile, Hong Kong Football Club.

I am a Red from Hong Kong, this is the first time I can watch these young lads to play in competitive matches. Don't know which team is being sent to Hong Kong, U18 or reserve? It would be so excited if I have chance to watch players like Suso/Silva/Coady/Wisdom.

Villa is 5 times winner and they always fill strong team to play, I remember 4-5years earlier I watched Agbonlahor to play and right after that he was promoted to first team. I really hope that Liverpool is doing the same. Ha ha.

Just watched the reserves against united.
Decent game ended 2-2, we had a strongish side out with the likes of Joe Cole, Ngog, Poulsen (sorry), Shelvey and Wilson in it.
Thought Shelvey was excellent.
Not convinced at all by Wilson to be honest, doesnt seem overly strong in the air and isnt the quickest.
Cole was lively but still doesnt look anywhere near the player he was, hopefully its games that he needs.

Heard that Shelvey scored a fantastic goal. Are there highlights of the match?

yes mate very good free kick, seriously reminiscent of stevie.
Hasnt got the burst of pace of Gerrard, or i mean what Steven had but he has two good feet and can strike a ball and spot a pass.
Looks a decent player and i can se why Kenny appears keen to get him on the pitch as much as possible and give him more and more experience.

Shelvey was very Stevie like throughout the match.  He literally was everywhere.  Definitely the MOM.  Unfortunately he did give away the foul that led to the Manc equalizer.  Aside from that, he was awesome.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I caught the 2nd half mate. Shelevey reminds me so much of Gerrard. the way he runs, the way he addresses the ball, the way he passes it and strikes it and his build is very similar. It's freaky. You're right about the burst though, he doesn't have the pace of a young Stevie who was pretty rapide when he got up to full steam. I still think this kid has got a bright future.

Agree completely on Wilson. He's been overtaken by Kelly, Flanagan and Robinson and I don't believe he has the physical attributes to play at the top level. He's got some ball skills but he's slow and he lacks aerial prescence and unfortunately for him, he won't be able to change that. 19 year old players don't get taller or quicker.

Was good to see Suso play again. He will be ready for a few fiurst team appearances early next season. Europe League anyone!?

Agree on Cole, lots of clever touches and he kept the ball well but it's the physical side of it that lets him down at the moment. He needds to regain some of the mobility/agility that he had when he was fully fit if he's gonna make an impact in the first team.

Shelvey has done well in the recent games he came on as a sub, he really got the game going and all.

I didn't watch the reserve game, but if he similar to Gerrard in some way as you guys said then we might have a player in our hands for the future

Well, Flanno and Robinson are fullbacks, and Kelly, although he has made his mark at RB is a CB and I'd agree that Kelly is above him there.  But to be fair to Wilson he was put in a tough position to play LB in the first team.  I look at him like a young Agger to be honest.  About the same height.  Same build, both can play the ball well with their left foot.

As far as Wilson being slow.  Well, maybe for a fullback he might not be the fleetest of foot, but the play he made to chase down the manc striker from behind and shoulder him (a much bigger lad) off the ball to save a sure one on one with the keeper was a nice sign.  He also nearly scored from a corner when he came flying in to attack the header.
