Yeah mate I was just saying Given is the only goalkeeper I would take within the premier league

I've been wondering why Arsenal didnt move for Shay Given, I know if I were an Arsenal fan I'd want them to.

We can't lose Reina, that would be horrible.  He's fessing up to making mistakes and saying he will get better, so I think that's good, it shows he wants to do well for the club. If he does end up leaving tho, we would need to go for Given.  Nuer is good but I don't think he wants to leave Germany, haven't manure tried to get him through a couple transfer windows?

God help us of were going from Reina to sh1tty Paul Robinson, If Reina does go there is only one keeper I would go for and that is Shay Given.

Shay Given? why hes way past it we should look at Neuer, De Gea or Akinfeev a younger keeper

I suppose the good thing about getting Given is it would leave a hell of alot of cheddar available to sort out or shoddy defense

Given was, in my opinion, the best keeper in the league during his last 6 months at newcastle.  He saved them so many times I couldn't even tell you.  He gets sold in January and they get relegated.

Given would hold us over until we could get a good young keeper and get him a bit developed.  Given's better then any Arsenal keeper.  he'll be better then any manure keeper next year.  better then any tottenham keeper.  Only chelski would have a better keeper, and obviously man city.

IF Pepe was to leave this summer, I definitely wouldn't want to see neither Robinson nor Given as his replacement. I'd expect for us to go all in for a younger "star" keeper in the mould of Neuer (who will only have one year left on his contract this summer I think). I know many would be in for him, but someone else who was looking for a keeper would have bought Pepe (let's get one thing clear here: I really hope he stays!), and we have the money and the will to go for younger targets, so why not? Anyways let's just wait and see if anything actually happens with Pepe shall we :;):.

Lucas Barrios has been linked to us.

29 goals in 56 matches for Dortmund.  That's a very good ratio in a decent league.  He's scoring as much as Dzeko was.  He is also probably the main reason that Dortmund has torn the Bundesliga apart this season.

I would love to have him.  He's 26 years old, so still got some time and he seems quite a decent player.

Watched the semifinal of the German Cup last night. Schalke 04 vs. Bayern. Both keepers are pretty good I'd have to say, esp. Neuer from Schalke....

Neuer - thats the German guy I was on about  :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Being linked with a lot of strikers it seems.  Stevan Jovetic, not good enough because he only scores like 1 in 6 games. Gervinho, is okay for Lille but I don't know if he's good enough for Liverpool, Vucinic, which I think could be a proper signing.  He's 27 so he's still got a few good years left.

Also linked with Ashley Young and Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago.  I really want Young,  I think he would add a new element to our wings, but I'm not too sure about Gago, I've never seen him play.

With Andy Caroll in the team we desperatly need someone who can whip some balls in from the wing.  I am sure this, with another CB and a left back will be our priority in the summer
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Paul Tomkins just tweeted on Twitter -

"Got an #LFC transfer scoop. Heard from a very good source that Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux signed a pre-contract with club today."

never heard of him....don't watch french football.
is he any good ?

EDIT

From TIA:

Liverpool appear to have won the race to sign Sylvain Marveaux after Comolli reached a successful ending to talks over the weekend. The Frenchman is available on a free after his current contract is due to expire with his current club Rennes. He will become a Liverpool player come July 1st.

The transfer will represent quite a coup for Comolli and Liverpool as they managed to fight off a number of top Premiership and European clubs for his signature. Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all had the player watched in the past but it is believed Liverpool is the players preferred destination.

The international can play in a number of positions including left back and through the middle of midfield but it is on the left wing where the player feels most comfortable. It is hoped the 24 yr old can provide the width Liverpool so desperately need, quick and a good crosser of the ball, he is seen as an ideal threat to assist Suarez and Carroll.

Liverpool fans may wait to see the player in action however before getting excited over the transfer. Liverpool’s history with free transfers is not a successful one, Andriy Voronin, Milan Jovanovic and the much publicised Joe Cole transfer to name but a few. Fans will certainly be hoping this is not another that doesn’t work out.

Adam has already said he wants Liverpool over spurs because he knows that he won't play for spurs that much, but has a chance of making the starting 11 for us.  Hopefully Young sees the same thing with the mancs.  Tho he may start for them too.
