No he wasn't! 1 goal in 18 games in 2 seasons in the league, plus 2 goals in one cup game.

Well apparently he was because Liverpool FC signed him.  The scouts must have seen something in him.  Scoring goals isn't the only way you can make a name.  Alonso is considered one of the best players in the last decade and he very rarely scored.  Yes, I know he's a mid and n'gog is a striker, but still, he was like 18 years old.

Why N'Gog was signed is a complete mystery to me, I really hope we have better scouts these days, the lad is complete garbage and should never be playing for a top flight team.

He wasn't successful, and we didn't sign him because he was successful. Even a couple of PSG fans I met said they were shocked we bought him.

Its still a mystery what Rafa and the scouts saw in him, Degen and Voronin :Oo:

wouldn't mind Gary Cahill though, looks good

I'll give you this one ethanr. N'gog is making a name for himself by not scoring goals!

Look, I like the kid. He is not a terrible player, he has plenty of potential, I just don't see him as good enough for where we are aiming.

Your theory that French players fail in the EPL after being a success in France or elsewhere is interesting, but you are going to have to come up with better (and a hell of a lot more) examples than N'gog to prove your point. Or else you could admit you are wrong.

Up to you.

Fine I'm wrong.

I don't want to look anything up right now.  :D

Trust me, I don't like ngog.  I think he's garbage.  We should be playing Pacheco over him.

Because we had no money, it was a sign of the times. Hopefully those days are behind us.

Yes but that was Rafa's problem, buy someone anyone, use the money somehow, instead of promoting from the youth setup. Anyway those days are behind us now  :;):

WHAT? Admitting you are wrong on an internet forum?! This isn't the place for humility, we could have got a real good flame war going and both earnt cards!

I'm very disappointed.  :;):

Yeah, I'd like to see more of Pacheco too, though he is hardly a like for like replacement. Anyway that is for another thread.

In the telegraph today it says were weighing up a move for Paul Robinson as we're expecting Arsenal to make a £20m move for Reina.

God help us of were going from Reina to sh1tty Paul Robinson, If Reina does go there is only one keeper I would go for and that is Shay Given.

Read that earlier, I'm becoming more consigned to the idea that our Pepe is off now :(

I'd take Given as well - what about that German keeper? there's also that guy who plays for Atletico and Hugo Lloris
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Watched the semifinal of the German Cup last night. Schalke 04 vs. Bayern. Both keepers are pretty good I'd have to say, esp. Neuer from Schalke....
