Arl twitchy gob will bid for nando now just watch.

So so daft, everyone can see that what Tottenham need is a towering central defender like Mertesacker or David Luiz. They leaked four against Fulham for crying out loud haha  :D

well I've been away for a few days and only ust caught up on everything thats gone on. Though I knew the jist of the matter obviously and have been reading bits and bobs on here when I could

The timing of this whole debacle is shambolic in all honesty/ He's had ample time to leave (this month and every window before that) but four days before the window closes he decides to put a transfer request in, nob! I was heartbroken when I found out like many of you were more than likely. He's idolised in Liverpool and constantly spoke of his connection with the city and fans alike, a lot of the sentiments I feel have already been stated in some way shape or form. I've went from gutted to optimistic almost in 5 minute spells, its unreal to have this connection with someone I've never met

If he wants to leave and be another fish in the Chelsea pond then so be it. In the bad times I want to know that we have players that will stick together and be counted, he is obviously not one of them. Best case scenario is he goes now, I don't want him to be seen in Liverpool red ever again. Hopefully one day he'll look at this and see just how special how club is and how he could have been revered for decades afer retirement.

well I look at it this - if one league title with Liverpool doesn't mean as much as 5 with Chelsea, then you my friend, are not worthy of the shirt

Bugger. :sleepy:

In fact, the only thing that can come remotely close to summing up this entire Torres fiasco is this clip:

Then it's 50M or no deal, eh ?
Seriously, I don't want Anelka back - he'd sulk and he's only got a couple of years in him left...

I don't have much time for PLayers who hand in tfr requests who don't want to play for the club.

if I was the chief Executive at LFC, tommorow morning i would be on the phone naming chelsea a minimum price for torres. 50m Cash.

then sell him without thinking twice. he aint robbie fowler, prolific, drops his head a lot, and has no left foot. he rarely scores from outside the box, or unless you play the ball right in front of him 8 yards out. he aint the complete article, or as good as David villa.

If he wants out, just get on with it and sell, and stop holding the club back.

50m in cash, then we bid 25m for Andy Carroll to partner suarez, a decent winger/ midfielder (8m for adam), and a centre back. or hows about Shaun Wright-philips anyone?

Personally, I'm really glad you are NOT our chief exec!!!

Carroll....SWP? ???

Torres isn't the complete article? ???

Are you a CFC WUM???

explain your comments?

LFC points with Torres in team, and WITHOUT, is more or less the same.

you do the math, and come back when you have actual football knowledge or start watching torres and LFc for 90 mins like i have.

Andy carroll is the next big thing. pacey and good in the air.

i hate it when these juveniles with no football knowledge cant back up their arguments with FACTS

Arsenal didn't allow Fabregas to leave...
Man City didn't allow Tevez to leave...
Man Utd didn't allow Rooney to leave...

So why can we allow Torres to leave? Are we more weak willed than those 3 teams? Torres should be told that if he wants to leave, he has to wait until the summer and be transferred to a team who are not our rivals!

Possibility of a £50 million transfer to Chelsea for the Spain forward has Merseyside club preparing to buy three new players
Liverpool’s determination to deny Fernando Torres a British-record transfer to Chelsea has not prevented them from lining up a trio of deadline-day deals in readiness for the possibility of life without the Spain forward.
With Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, ready to test Liverpool’s resolve by making an improved offer for Torres after having a £35 million bid turned down last week, the Merseyside club are ready to complete the £23 million signing of Luis Suárez, from Ajax, while also making a final attempt to agree a fee with Blackpool for Charlie Adam and looking into the possibility of setting up a deal to sign Ashley Young from Aston Villa.
Torres held several hours of talks with Liverpool officials at the club’s Melwood training ground yesterday as efforts continued to persuade the 26-year-old to withdraw the transfer request that he submitted on Friday. Torres was accompanied by his representatives from Bahía Internacional, Margarita Garay and Jorge Lera, who continued to press for the move that their client is seeking.
Liverpool believe the acquisition of Suárez for a club-record fee illustrates their ambition, but the Torres camp maintains that the move for the Uruguay forward, which will be completed today after he successfully came through a medical, is too little, too late to prompt a change of heart.
In the knowledge that Torres remains determined to quit Anfield, Abramovich is unwilling to sanction an offer of £50 million, which has been mooted as the figure that would tempt Liverpool into doing business. He is prepared to do a cash deal, having ruled out the possibility of allowing Nicolas Anelka, the forward, to be used as a makeweight in any transaction, but he is hopeful of striking a bargain with Liverpool as deadline day wears on. Liverpool have also made it clear that they are not interested in taking Daniel Sturridge as part of any deal after Chelsea indicated that they would be willing to offer the England Under-21 forward in part-exchange for Torres, who trained alone yesterday after returning from Madrid.
In what will be an intriguing final day of the January transfer window, Liverpool will pursue a deal for Adam, with their confidence that they can finally agree a fee boosted by the knowledge that Ian Holloway, the Blackpool manager, has signed Andy Reid, from Sunderland, as a possible replacement.
Like Torres, Adam has attempted to force the issue by handing in a transfer request, but Blackpool have hitherto remained unmoved and have already rejected two bids from Liverpool for the midfield player. Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the Liverpool owner, has approved a final offer as it seeks to improve the playing squad.
John W. Henry, Liverpool’s principal owner, contacted Randy Lerner, the Aston Villa owner, at the weekend to inquire into the availability of Young, only to be told that the forward is not for sale.
Should Torres leave, though, Liverpool would be prepared to pay up to £18 million for Young.

When will fans learn? Why do we kid ourselves and think these players are here for the same reasons we are? They are only ever here for the money ffs! There is no loyalty in this game, but we always kid ourselves again and again.

Every fan has a player that broke his heart...
Mine was McManaman. But could quit easily have been owen or gerrard. There will be many more mercenaries to come. Support the club not the players. They will never support you.

If he doesn't go now, either way we should have at least another 50 million in the summer to spend because he should be f*cked off then. Take that 50 and maybe add another 50 million to that and we could potentially have 100 million for Kenny to go and raid the f*ck out of the Bundesliga, Dutch and Spanish leagues for the top young talent around. Start fresh, and start young and new. We could bring in at least 5 or more top quality targets in the summer and a big f*ck you to Torres for not sticking around and joining in. Another thing: hopefully Kenny tells Carragher that if he catches him hoofing the f*cking ball 50 yards up the pitch from the back, that he'll kick him in the bollox and drop him to the bench. That is all.
