I'd reconciled myself to losing him in the summer but was really hoping we could keep him until the summer and it would have been great to see his partnerhip with Suarez but it doesn't look like we'll get to see it. I am regretting getting tickets for the Chelsea game next Sunday though, it will be like a dagger in the heart to see him in a blue shirt.

Absolutely imperitive we bring a striker in when he goes otherwise we're stuck with the untried Suarez who could take some time to settle, Ngog and part-timers Kuyt and Babel to do the job upfront. Anelka makes perfect sense and i think the club are foolish if they don't include him in the deal. He's ready made to come in and hit the ground running, has voiced his affection for the club, and lets be honest, letting him go all those years ago was a big mistake. I think he's got a few more years in him at the top.

Agree with Bav on the McCraechen shout, this lad has got a very bright future and i was thinking he would be a good shout on the plane home. He's one of the brightest young centre-mids in the country along with James McCarthy at Wigan.

I'd be happy (for want of a better word) enough with 42-43 million + Anelka I guess.

Dude, last time I heard Babel left to hoffenheim. :D

I think if we can get 35-40 plus Anelka go for it, if he does not get sold I hope he bangs in lots of goals and we sell him in the summer for more. If we sell him in the summer surely that means we can spend it in the summer without affecting the fair play rules. We may well then be one of only a few clubs spending this summer.

Exactly mate its about the fair play rules for me that is the main reason he has to stay until the summer. Its all good having 50 million burning a hole in our pocket to improve the sqaud but then we would also have to sell 50 million worth of talent (and lets be honest we aint got many players that would command up to 5 million) granted this is over 3 years but it still needs to be done. It will also mean Chelsea would have to sell 50 million worth of talent instead of them having Torres and being able to build on thier team if we sell him now. If he stays he will preform for us im convinced of that and with him and Suarez upfrot we could even dream of 4th. Plus we could start a bidding war between every big team in the world. Im convinced if City came in wed be talking about 60 mill maybe more.

Torres has to go now (and i say that with a heavy heart) but for the best of the club he needs to stay until the summer. We also as supporters of LIVERPOOL need to get behind him in games as its in our best interest to do so, despite how we feel.

Not sure anythings happended since we rejected both the 35m bid and Torres transfer request. Everything beyond that now is pure speculation and the media banging the drums. The lad has returned back to work today and evryones gone about their normal business at Melwood. Sky are really flagging trying to keep this one alive with that fella outside Melwood but they have nothing and are now claiming a 'source' says we will only listen to offers beyond £50m but personally I think hes just keeping the story moving and has nothing. The only fella who seems to have info is Balague and hes been quiet since he broke the story initially. There will have been private conversations about how we deal with a second offer but until that comes theres nothing happening here.

Yeah the rumour is three days old but the tweet I quoted is only 19min old, I was posting it more due to the source of the tweet than any new info disclosed

this is a great idea actually. as long as we can give a left back the number 9 shirt it means nobody has to throw theirs away. everyone's a winner/

His namesake said he was a red - Torres, Torres
I'd rather walk alone he said - Torres, Torres
We got a left back in for free
It meant we could keep our jerseys
He's Daniel Torres, Liverpool's number 9!  :D
THERE WILL BE LIFE AFTER TORRES:
