Would Anelka want to come to us . If he did , under duress we'd be swapping one sulky , unhappy player for another !!

Stick to straight cash , set a deadline of tonight and then bring in someone we've identified !!

Anelka is 32 in March and cost Chavski £15M 3 years ago, can only be worth half that at most.

the question is, will Chelsea pay 50m?

If Man City were bidding, Torres would have been a Man City player by now

I think Anelka would relish the chance to play up front rather than stuck out on the right wing wheres hes been for the last 18months. and seriously, hes almost 32, hes worth £5m tops

id take anelka but he isnt worth that kind of money.
we need a mix of both, youth and experience on the off chance that suarez takes time to settle and tbh anelka is probably the only chance we have at this stage of landing another striker.

I think so mate.

The way I see it is his contract isn't up till 2013 so he's ours till then. Now the club are willing to sell him but only if they meet the 50mil valuation. We don't need the money as bad as we did a year ago but that doesn't mean we shouldn't stand firm.

The fact that the timing is so bad means we should really be asking for 60 or more but 50 is the magic number.

As far as their players go I actually wouldn't mind Kakuta or Josh Mc Eachran.

Is everyone else getting sick of all the wasted time.

If he goes I hope the club has used these two days to arrange replacements and strengthen the squad.

I know its been said before but with an extra week £50 million could have gotten us Turdan, Carroll and Adam plus maybe a left back.

I just hope we dont end up with another transfer window where we are in profit.

If we could line thses signings up we wouldn't miss Torres but if we lose him and don't bring quality and quantity in the we will regret it end of!

players change their mind all the time, theres still a chance Torres will remain a LFC player for many years.

Can't understand how Ronaldo went to Madrid for 80 million and Torres is being priced at 30 million less !

So the rumour now is a £48m deal has been agreed. Some online betting sites have suspended betting after receiving some large bets. Probably just more bollocks rumours though

exactly. i know his forms been off but knowing torres and the quality he's capable of he's worth at least 80 million. and im not seeing it through rose tinted glasses. he's basically kept us afloat the past three seasons with his goal tally. he is worth that much.
