Torres isn't stupid. He knows full well the level of constraints we were under with H&G. But I read somewhere yesterday that Guilleme Ballague came out and said he spoke with Fernando and he was dissapointed with how long it was taking FSG to get in fresh blood

The rumour is that Suarez has passed a medical and an announcement will follow. Also Torres will sign a new contract by tuesday.

Id take Anelka and 40 million not a penny less and bring in Adams for 8 million

                       Reina

Kelly      Carragher    Agger    Johnson

               Lucas    Adam

        Gerrard   Miereles   Suarez

                    Anelka

Imagine having 30 million plus whatever we make from selling deadwood and what NESV give us to improve on this team. It not all bad.

I reckon the whole of the red half of Liverpool get down there and kick some sense in to him

Wont need to if he does play against us, count on Carragher to snap him in two.

Latest rumours look promising though, sacking his agent, flying back tommorow etc

well its torres making all the calls and its torres who done the letter, i take it that he sacked his agent before any of that happend

and it was torres that said to a reporter in spain that he dont wish to go back to liverpool.

when you say things yourself and things dont work out you only have yourself to blame.

I heard he sacked his agent after handing in the letter as he wants to do a u turn.

you mean he sh1t himself once we said no and had to find someone to blame, god i love to see him face when that happend lol

It sounds like a damn good offer to be fair. 50 mil plus Anelka or Sturidge (Anelka looks more likely now). Dont see why they would give us Sturidge instead of Anelka, he's the same kind of player, almost as good and he's 10 years younger. We on the other hand could use Anelka more than Sturidge. He is more experienced and we could play him as a lone striker as well, while Sturidge is more like Suarez, wouldnt really fit in the role as a lone striker... at least that's my oppinion.

But in any case, I'd welcome this offer but if it happens in the summer not now.

Listen fellas and gals, according to a certain man.city player, friend of mine and a close friend of Stevie's, Torres has not shown any desire to move away from Liverpool. He insists this is all a story made up by the media and Torres agent who is soon to be an ex agent. this has all come to Chelseas attention so they have tabled 3 bids - all knocked back. Abramovich would love Torres at chelsea not Ancelotti. By all accounts (how true I cant tell ya) Torres won't be going anywhere. He doesn't know if the transfer request was Torres doing or not. He suspects not directly as he has been in Spain.

not really any wiser are we?

If Torres does not want to play for LFC then fair enough, we can plan for his departure.

However, this does not mean that he goes now, and he goes to Chelsea. It is likely that Chelsea will be one of our main rivals in the coming years, so there is no way we should allow him to move there.

Also, he goes when we have had time to plan replacements, not with just hours left in the window.

So the discussions with KK will hopefully convince him to stay anyway, as a move to Chelsea is no big progression. An old squad, in decline, and struggling to get into the top four.

If he insists on going then we agree that he plays for us till the end of the season, with commitment, and then we wave him off, exchanging him for over £50m.

I really want him to stay, but if the worst happens it needs to happen on LFC's terms, not Nando's or CFC's.

I think it's probably true Torres had the transfer request, people just like to make stuff up.  That's an "according to a friend of a friend who knows a friend of a friend" type of bull.

Torres will probably be gone, whether now or in summer I don't know.  It's sad to see a lineup with no Torres in it tho

If we sell him in January, we need to sell him now.  Get Adam, get Young, and a decent forward if one doesn't come in the deal.

It's funny you should say that. Was listening to 5live this morning on the way to the gym and someone commented on Ancelotti, saying that it sounded like he didn't really want Torres himself and that it's all coming from Roman to appease the fans.

Hopefully we will find out tonight.
