Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Just spoke to Guillem Balague, he says FT is frustrated at speed of new owners making changes,at 27 he thinks it could come too late for him

------

Exactly what I said yesterday. Still doesn't excuse his timing but still.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Gutted he wants to leave and he will/has broken the hearts of many many loyal fans. I know every footballer wants to succeed in his career and win trophies, but surely its not always about that. The love, belief and adoration from loyal fans has to count. Look at all of us ! I have spent 25 years supporting this club through many good times and many bad times, yet we are still here loyal and always optimistic.

The club is bigger than the man, he wants to go, let him go ( hillarious that he wants to go to chelsea ). But lets make the fu kers pay top dollar for him.

Cheerio pal thanks for the memories

LFC statement is correct and they are right to let us know what is going on, Fenway can not be blamed if he does go, and we need to know that, given all the speculation.

Ultimately there is only one Stevie G and Carra... true reds and committed t0 the cause, the rest - their hearts lie elsewhere - FACT !

Short memory.

Stevie has never wanted to go to chlsea has he?! :glare:

yes - he stayed in the end because he realised winning trophies elsewhere meant nothing unless he won with Liverpool (his statemnt not mine).

Gerrard could have moved and would you blame him ?.. he could won a bucket load of titles elsewhere, but he stayed and has led us in the most difficults times.

Having completed that u-turn he has never disappointed, whilst carrying our sh'te team at times.. short memories not, true committment - recognised and respected !
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

KING KENNY.. Always LEGEND !

RAFA.. MADE THE PEOPLE HAPPY !

So if Torres does a u-turn all is forgiven then?

This annoys me, Chelsea's ambitions they have signed Ramieres and that other gimp can't think of his name, (scored a volley past cska in the champs league) their squad is old , they have a very weak bench, we've just got Suarez.... Fernano what are you doing!?

it shows how twisted football has become when players start to believe its their right to win trophies and medals. egotistical, greedy nobheads the lot of them.

Does anyone else think that 50mil isnt near enough for the most prolific striker we'v had in a long time?
If we do accept 50mil then every other team will ramp up the prices of their players for us, we might get one
decent player for 30mil and another half decent one. I cant see us selling at his late stage in the transfer window
and especially to one of our premier league rivals, it would be a big big mistake in my opinion. Fair enough sell him
abroad in the summer unless chelsea or man city come in with some riduclous bid like 80 or 90 million.
Like many have said already its come out of the blue and I would love to know what has gone on behind the scenes
but I supose we'll never know that until the autobiographies are written.
I do think we need to keep him until the summer, if we want to continue climbing the table we cant rely on the strike force we currently have
plus an unproven striker who hasnt even signed yet, it would be a very big risk to take.

From what i can gather he asked to go last season, and was  persuaded to stick it out at least until we found new owners.

60 million will do for me... I'm sorry Torres, you didn't have a price on your head last time, but you made me put a price on your head now...

Funny to think back on his performance against Chelsea this season, which was without a doubt his standout showing in a Liverpool shirt. Was that an audition I wonder? And his recent upturn in effort and goals, was that to send out a reminder to Chelsea that he is still a superstar striker? Horrible to think it, but has he performed at all for OUR benefit this season??  ???

It hurts because:

1) It's fucking Chelsea.
2) A transfer request on the 28th of January.
3) 9th January, 'My head is in Liverpool, I intend to honour my contract'.

If he came out and spoke the truth, and went to Barca in the summer I could 100% forgive him. Just like he did at Atleti.

Sneaking out the back door, in January, to those sh!tbags? That's why it fucking hurts, it kills.

Anyone who leaves liverpool never goes on to better things, in a bit torres lad in a bit.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Feel sick to the pit of my stomach over this . I totally understand his frustration , we've all felt it too , but to do this now when we've just signed Suarez and things are looking up is too much to take.

Add to that the fact that he's done it with 3 days left in the transfer window , it is just cruel.

We were all dreaming of a Torres / Suarez partnership and he's just driven a great big truck through that   :(

What is the point of contracts , they just ignore them when it suits !!
