Taxi for Torres - judas fecks off to chelsea

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

You have to try and be positive if this does go through. We have Dalglish back at the helm, new owners and a top young player just signed on. Its still better than it was last year without Torres. We have been going backwards for ages, in the mire, and all this with Nando on the books. I feel hes chosen to go just as we are picking up but its his call. Chelsea? well they have an ageing team and a owner who can flick a switch and change the clubs course in a heartbeat . Who knows what goes on behind the scenes, maybe Dagger feels Torres needs to go, you just dont know what goes on in there.

has there been one single verifiable quote from Torres? Or is it all mysterious 'in the know' sources aka very likely invented to sell papers

I know the game has changed in many ways, but one thing fore sure is that we must never sell our best players rivals.

unless the player himself expresses to go the rival team, then its problematic

Someone on LFC.TV said tonight that he expected him to commit his future to the club tomorrow. Am not going to flip out until he's had his chat with Kenny.

All I will say is that I would find it hard to believe he wants out now after staying through H&G, through Hodgsen ect.... so to ask to leave as soon as we get new owners and start to show some ambition in the transfer market sounds wierd to say the least. That said he if wants out then no point keeping him on. Take the 50mil and invest it straight into the 1st team.

This smacks too much of the Gerrard to Chelsea farce ,far too many posters and fans only too willing to call the Lad a stream of expletives without realising the wrench leaving Liverpool and the fans he supposedly identifies with really fully entails  .... I think this media driven frenzy is being maintained simply because of the deep seated loathing they have for all things Liverpool FC ..... sure some of what's being said could be the truth and some pure speculative nonsense ....only time will tell ...I for one will wait till the Lad see's fit to give us an explanation
A lot of promises were made to Torres and none were kept .....I mean lets be serious here the Lad was expecting a manager with a European pedigree ,one used to regularly competing and indeed winning the  big trophies ....he got Hodgson it must have been as soul destroying to Torres as it was to us fans .... then the fallout with the players responsible for advocating the arrival of Mr LMA (Just rumour of course ) but everyone in Liverpool was telling the same story ...... all that aside though lets see what the Lads decision is ...before we forget the good times when El Nino's goals were a thing of beauty ...and every fan in the Kop who had a voice  bounced in unison to his undoubted class .....  lets give him that much shall we

its not very often that a player speaks to the press in a situation like this if he's going. so you really cant wait for a torres quote.

alonso, masherano, crouch, bellamy - none of them came out in the press to say "i want to move to XXX" before they moved

I do understand his sentiment for him to leave, we have been utter cr@p the last 2 seasons

But hes been one of the reasons we've been cr@p m8 !
This season everyone who's pulled a red shirt on could have complained about the standard of the number 9 :D
