:censored: i did not think of that.

Why on earth would the chavs want Rafa as their next manager??

I'm amazed it's took this long before Rafa got the blame....must be Roy next , followed swiftly by Parry, Purslow and finally G&H........ not the player, agent or just aload of media hysteria

Rafa planned it because he's off to Chelsea ....

some people hey!

Not blaming Rafa at all, any manager would want him, but most wouldnt get him, just seems from the bookies odds there are a few things in motion, just making an opinion known of something that popped into my head :(

Well nothing major on Twitter from either - @OliverKayTimes @danroan @TonyBarrettTime or @TonyEvansTimes. All of who historically are reliable at breaking news that actually transpires to be true. Until then I am extremely sceptical.

As for the bookies odds, that is a red herring. Bookies always changes odds when rumours spread, it's a self defence mechanism in case the rumour is true.

I reconciled myself with the fact we'd lose him this summer a long time ago. I always hoped it would be to a team playing abroad but unfortunately it looks more likely to be chelsea or city. Unfortunately, If the player wants to go we probably have to sell him. I'd be very surprised if city don't enter the bidding and the price will head up to the 50-55 million mark. Why they have left it so late to be bid is beyond me though, if we sell (no matter what the price) would there be time to geta couple of replacements in? I don't think so. I also think the club should have moved earlier this transfer window to bring a couple of players in, Torres head would have been less easily turned had the club been more proactive instead of the frugal approach we have seen. He wants Champions league football, if we'd signed Suarez and Adam by now perhaps he'd have a little more confidence in our ability to deliver.

If he wants to go, I'd be inclined to ask for 40 million + Anelka and then the club wouold have to do the deal for
Suarez and Adam before the window closes.

In what has been a quiet window, and at a time when they have just suffered a sexist scandal and been all over the news themselves, I would not be surprised if Ballague was asked to fan the flames of this rumour, and give them something to talk about.

Had Roy been here I would have been petrified right now, but I feel quite secure with Kenny here.

No matter how much they bid, we don't have time to spend it now, and so it would be pointless.  It would leave us without any attacking players until the summer.  ???

Sky are reporting a bid last week for £28m plus a player, and now £35m.

There is no buyout clause in his contract, I don't see Chelsea being that far ahead of us right now, with an old squad in major need of an overhaul, so Torres would be unwise to go there.

What we need, quickly, is a definitive statement from player and club saying this is all irrelevant and LFC are focussed on adding to the squad and a strong finish to the season.

Either that, or we sign Suarez today, and tell Chelsea we are not a selling club, and we're going to chase them all the way for 4th place!!

Best post I've read in reply to this Ballague nonsense yet.

Pretty much sums it up.

If Torres wants to go, and that's a big if, then sell him, don't want anyone who don't want him here, but if it's just the usual Ballague baloney, which is more likely, then no worries.

its not just coming from him and sky, the bbc are reporting it and have strong links with the club.

All the BBC are reporting is that we've turned down a bid, we know this.

Theres nothing about the Balague/Sky-sponsored BS.

From thinking who we will buy and if Suarez and Adam would come we are now faced with rumour on one of our best players.

Not in this window. The worrying thing is that money is useless this late in the window. Any replacement will be sold at a price that has no time to negotiate.

I still think we have nothing to be worried about. Selling your best player with only a few days of the transfer window to go.....not even the worst run club in the world would be stupid of that. The media will huff and puff all they like and bookies will change their odds because of this but I 100% believe he aint going anywhere.

If this turns out to be BS I'm boycotting Sky. Fed up of their BS, they wouldn't do it to their beloved Mancs.

Right, I'm off to burn 'A Season on the Brink.'
