In what has been a quiet window, and at a time when they have just suffered a sexist scandal and been all over the news themselves, I would not be surprised if Ballague was asked to fan the flames of this rumour, and give them something to talk about.

Had Roy been here I would have been petrified right now, but I feel quite secure with Kenny here.

No matter how much they bid, we don't have time to spend it now, and so it would be pointless.  It would leave us without any attacking players until the summer.  ???

Sky are reporting a bid last week for £28m plus a player, and now £35m.

There is no buyout clause in his contract, I don't see Chelsea being that far ahead of us right now, with an old squad in major need of an overhaul, so Torres would be unwise to go there.

What we need, quickly, is a definitive statement from player and club saying this is all irrelevant and LFC are focussed on adding to the squad and a strong finish to the season.

Either that, or we sign Suarez today, and tell Chelsea we are not a selling club, and we're going to chase them all the way for 4th place!!

its not just coming from him and sky, the bbc are reporting it and have strong links with the club.

I know in the past anything was possible with sh1t (understatement of the century) owners and a :censored: manager but with Kenny Dalglish and his no bullsh1t policy then we should believe what they have to say until they break our trust.

Does anyone honestly believe that we would let one of the best strikers in the world, if not the best, go to one of our premiership rivals?? Especially now that we are debt free and therefore dont need the money!!

Its been a quiet transfer window so the :censored: in the media are trying to sell more papers by reporting this absoloute horse b*ll*cks. What better way than to pick on one of their favourite targets which every other club in the country loves to see in trouble.

Here it is again for anyone who missed it "Torres is not for sale"

Anyone who thinks that we would actuly sell Fernando to Chelsea needs to get their head examined. Today we should be looking forward to getting a world class striker in (hopefuly) Not worrying about loosing the only proper striker we have at the club.

he has asked to be sold to them mate.

Says who? ballague? Oh must be true then!

:censored: i did not think of that.

Why on earth would the chavs want Rafa as their next manager??

I'm amazed it's took this long before Rafa got the blame....must be Roy next , followed swiftly by Parry, Purslow and finally G&H........ not the player, agent or just aload of media hysteria

Rafa planned it because he's off to Chelsea ....

I am truly sick of this, every transfer window for the last 3-4 years our top players have been constantly courted by other clubs in full view of the media.
Whats worries me is why we made the Torres bid public. I know the club issued a hands of but we have seen plenty of those in the past. Why make public and bid that was rejected what happened to the Liverpool way this should have been kept behind closed doors and this media circus wouldn't have occured.
Also if you read Balagues tweet he states that no buy out clause exists which means starting figures of £50 million are a bit on the optimistic side
