Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The club have quite clearly stated..   'the player is not for sale'.   If they approach him again surely we could have them in court. T-h-e   P-l-a-y-e-r   i-s   n-o-t   f-o-r-s-a-l-e.

No way will he go there , I think its just about Abramovitch this trying to get back in  the Chelsea fans books by saying hes trying to sign someone, Lutz, Aguera, an now Fernando, really really late before the window closes.

I told yous ages ago and got disbeileved that both Fernando and Pepe had clauses drawn into there contracts by Purslow, one of and i say one of the reasons Rafa fell out with him HE DIDNT WANT ANY CLAUSES IN THERE ,

Im made up now though with who we have in charge of our team and with our owners , hust dread to think if this would of happend while them two were still here

Interesting thing is (also posted in the other thread), strategically if Chelsea or Manchester City want to buy Torres at a figure around £50m-60m, they would probably have to do it during this, or the January, transfer window. This would keep the Torres transfer off their 2011-12 season balance sheet.

It makes sense for them to sign a "big" player now. This is the last chance to avoid the new UEFA Financial Fair Play Rules.

That said, we won't sell him for £35m, but don't rule anything out if they come in with something >£50m.

Liverpool will never accept a bid for Torres unless he tells them he wants to leave. If and when that day comes we have a problem but right now theres nothing to indicate this is an issue. Chelsea test the waters every window with a bid so it will not have come as any surprise at Anfield.

Isnt it refreshing to hear the club come out and say he is not for sale tho, rather than let the rumours build and build until we half believe them.

I know clubs say that players arent for sale all the time then before you know it they've made a deal, but its good to hear our club nipping it in the bud immediatley.
That wouldnt have happened with them other two pair of b*ll*cks's

That is what Ballague said.

to be honest its b*llshit, why would Torres 2 weeks ago come out and say that he will honor his contract then wants Liverpool to negotiate with Chelsea....it doesn't make sense ???
