Rumours of the day seem to be around firm bids, and perhaps even late stage discussion with Elia, and now Suarez.

They are just rumours.....however....

Between them they would cost £30m ish.  Not only would that represent an excellent statement of intent from the owners, but they would massively improve our squad.

For me, I would also recall Insua from loan.  With Roy seeimg to acknowledge at last that Konchesky is $*i*e, we need two decent left backs.

               Reina

Johnson  Agger  Skrtel  Aurelio

Kuyt   Gerrard  Mereilles  Elia

         Suarez  Torres

Looks a good 11, with others such as Cole, Maxi, Ngog, Lucas, Soto, Shelvey, Wilson, Babel etc to come on/in.

I have said for weeks that this "our squad is weak" from Roy and pundits is not correct.  We have a decent squad now, and with 2-3 key signings can be easily good enough for Top 4 and CL.

We're linked with SO many players at the moment... i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.  Hopefully some of it is true and NESV are serious about spending!

£30 million is fuk all to a unit like Nesv. They wanna be successful so £30 million is a drop in the ocean for that.

However, reckon on it'll take 3 times that amount to be anywhere near where they see us.

SSN and other rumour sites saying we are enquiring about Adebayour (sp?) on loan.

Not my first pick, but I'd play him with Torres before Ngog for sure.

City might go for this as with Roy at the helm they probably don't see us as a threat for Top 4 ???

We can only try and sign those players who are available, Ade is and would be a massive improvement over N'gog.

I hope we can get him on loan, we badly need a quality striker.

I don't see it happening. If it did, I'm not sure if I'd be happy or not! Obviously a decent striker, just not sure of his attitude. Still, if we got him on loan that would be a decent piece of business.

Man City will not Emmanuel Adebayor go to us, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, or Tottenham.

Don't want him here anyway. Good striker on his day no doubt but way too much of a tool as a person (I can't even count the amount of times he's acted as a complete knob during his Arsenal days for starters).

The Suarez link on the other hand is quite interesting though. Given he's still only 23 (I think), he'll definitely fit into the "potential NESV-signing category". I haven't personally seen much of him on club level but he's scoring record is very good (I know, I know - it's only the dutch league etc).

Generally it seems we're linked with about an equal amount of good and shiiite players, so it will be very interesting to see who actually arrives.

He is a good player but he is on huge wages (rumoured to be £150k +) so could/would we pay that much for him? I know he has proven to be complete b*llend at Arsenal and now Man City but that is probably because he has been allowed too as there are not enough big characters in the dressing room. I don't think we would have that problem with him given he would be alongside Gerrard, Torres, Reina and Carra. He would well and truly be put in his place I think!!!

He is a good player but I am not sure what we need - would he not get in Torres's way and take up space that Torres would look to occupy. Personally I think we are more in need of a support striker playing off of Torres as opposed to a out and out centre forward.

If we are looking for someone to come in and allow Torres to be rested (which I dont subscribe too/support) then perhaps he is an option!

Rumours today from twitter and various rumour sites saying that Roy has signed release papers this morning and will leave after tonight's game.  Kenny to caretake.

Is Kenny back in the UK now?

Don't like to put LFC in with the likes of other clubs sacking their manager mid season, but every club has their breaking point, and I think Wolves, Northampton, oh and Blackpool, and the endless nonsense from his mouth were probably ours.

Sylvain Marveaux set to undergo surgery on groin injury. Ruled out of action for rest of season. Contract expires this summer
