sorry LittleHobo but if Carlton Cole isn't good enough for Chelsea he isn't good enough for us. I've never seen anything particularly exciting about him. Why do we need a 'target man' anyway. When we had Crouch the football we played was truly sh!te

if there is a camp for those who'd prefer to keep babel than more or less exchange him for cole, then i'd like to be in it. keeping babel and adding cole might be acceptable but one for the other weakens rather than strengthens our squad imo. maybe this will be the kick up the erse that he needs in combination with an arm around the shoulder manager that will finally see him live up to hype. but then, i'm an irrational romantic that knows bugger all about football.

A target man gives the CBs even more excuse to play hoofball - A big target man would fit in with Hodgsons previous tactics .

chelsea are in a diffrent league to us

we need to lower our expectations, we are currently the 6th best club in the country, no better.

calrton cole is a good enough target man for a team like us

We have more pressing areas to fill than a van der vaart . He would of been nice but not essential . But it looks like we are going to go all the way to Jan with no back up to Torres and we once again have made money during a transfer window .
