"wooooo woo woo woo..... - We had the best midfield in the world

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

2005: Champions league winners, Carling Cup runners up.
2006: FA Cup winners.
2007: Champions league runners up.

It was then that T+G took over...  Since then we have not competed in the final of a competition.
We've also being making profit in the transfer market.

If you're not investing in improving the squad... you're either gonna stay still or move backwards.
Due to teams below us having more money to spend, its inevitable we'll go backwards.
I hear Stoke City have outspent us this "Big" summer?

I totally agree but the exhaustive list that fivecups posted is done to paint a different picture than reality.

He calls it the "systematic destruction of the squad" yet the players listed have been both bought and sold by Rafa and Hodgson. I don't get the point?

We know H&G have not provided funds. It is nothing new that Rafa or Hodgson has had to sell before he can buy (except for Rafa's early days, whereby his transfer kitty was a loan).

The point is I'm irate and f'ucked off with our decline over the past few years. The point of the numbers is that we are consistently spending less on players than we are making from players sales. As it continues we will only go in one direction. I'm f'ucked off that another world class player has departed the club - it's sad to see.

And all these issues are traceable to one source. The 'owners'. I agree with those who say some of our recent buys have been poor. BUT, the reason we are desperately trying to save money is because of the crippling debt and interest payments we are having to service. That is the fundamental problem and if the club is on a downward spiral because of it. It f'ucks me off.

So your either with us or against us no splitters, get off that fence and get fucking shut of these pair of asset stripping b@stards NOW!!!!

Is that an original post?

Cos I saw something very similar on RAWK?

"Get behind the team & Roy"?

We tried that before when we nearly won the league 2 seasons ago but we didnt win it and they are still here, so getting behind the team helped a lot didnt it?

You onto a big loser if you are suggesting we don't back the team. I along with the vast majority here will ALWAYS back the team.

As for Aquilani - part of the best midfield on the planet? Let's get real here, he barely played, even when fit, under Rafa.

Alonso and Mascherano both wanted out under Rafa also. In fact, directly blame Rafa for Alonso's exit.

Nice to see balance in your posts as always Ciggy

You could argue about the decline of the club if your a blind idiot.

Otherwise you should be fully aware of what's happening.

I'm not blind to the situation at all.

The lack of funds prevents our competition with the other sides. I despise it as much as any other supporter but I believe that transfer policy has not helped the situation one bit.

There was no reason for any of the following sales, they weren't forced to generate cash, they we're poor choices -

John Arne Riise AS Roma £4,000,000 01.07.2008
Peter Crouch Portsmouth £11,000,000* 11.07.2008
Xabi Alonso Real Madrid £30,000,000 05.08.2009

you missed out on Warnock mate. he was sold for peanuts  :no

Mascherano wants to leave. There's not much anyone can do about it, except hold out for top dollar and use the money to buy a replacment of the same value...

...and Benitez should never have been allowed to waste 20 million on Aquilani in the first place.

There's tons of issues at the moment with LFC and a lot stem from the disgraceful owners, but there is absolutely nothing that can be done about the above situations.

Lynds, I don't think people are quite as ignorant to our situation as you think. Also, please try and let go a little. We are all slaves to the game, you'd have to be to spend the amount of time we do on here chatting rubbish about our beloved football team! But you can't let it effect you personally to such an extent otherwise you'll go potty. I've got a disconnect button I try and press (it doesn't always work) if tihngs are going pants on the pitch. I think I had the FUUU****CCCCCKKKKKK FOOTBALL mentality for almost the whole of last season. It kinda helps x

I think the club will be alright. Fingers crossed.

That remains to be seen. But, it's still no use whinging about about Masherano and Aquiliani now. What's done is done.

Whats it going to take for people to wake up to the dire situation we are in?

Oh yes, I'm wide awake to the situation. No way should Aquilani have been allowed to go out on loan. It will be Roy's first regret as Liverpool manager. Unless he has another creative midfielder in mind.

What the f.uck do you want people to do? Walk around with their lower lip dragging on the floor. Everyone knows the apple, feck me last season all our defeats were blamed on the owners, so we know what's happening thanks.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

If we suffer many defeats this year, should we blame Roy or the owners?
