But Poulson was bought BEFORE Mascherano was sold.
And BEFORE he decided he would never play for us again, and AFTER his dedicated performance vs Arsenal which convinced us all he would still try if he stayed.

Roy even said he isn;t a replacement for anyone.

So your full of :censored: as per usual.

as for Aquaman, firstly the transfer window isnt over, and we are in talks which Diarra.
second, he played fook all last year, so he aint exactly being missed.

What planet are you on? One where the end is nigh that's for sure.

Look, if i have a car that is a F'in banger, that costs me loads in maintenance, i would want rid ASAP. BUT i wouldn't go and by a replacement until i'd sold (or part ex'd) the one i own!!Your obviously different.

We paid way over the odds for Aquilani, and the more he played, the more he would cost.
If you know your investment was a bad one you don't blindly stick by it knowing it;s going to cost you a lot more (and jeopardise any other investments)
And if the rumours are true we are getting most of our money (minus wages) back.

As for Mascherano he wants out because of his family, so we are forced to sell.

You can blame the owners, and roy all you like but in the case of these two sales, i would have done the same.

Yes that makes loads of sense replaceing a 25 million pound world class midfielder with Christian poulson for 4 million.

And letting Aqualini go to juve without signing a replacement, yes that makes loads of sense I totally agree.

Fucking hell what planet are some of our fans living on?

Cant Poulson just be a player the manager likes ?

And i will say it again, Aquilani has been sh!te.
I personally will not lose any sleep over him leaving.

I totally agree but the exhaustive list that fivecups posted is done to paint a different picture than reality.

He calls it the "systematic destruction of the squad" yet the players listed have been both bought and sold by Rafa and Hodgson. I don't get the point?

We know H&G have not provided funds. It is nothing new that Rafa or Hodgson has had to sell before he can buy (except for Rafa's early days, whereby his transfer kitty was a loan).

Poulsen was bought as back up in case Masher went and he now becomes a first team player - let's hope he is up to it . On a side note - since Jan 09 we have sold 95 mil ish worth of players and bought 45 mil ish worth of players - that's a profit of 50 mil ?! Used to pay of debts .

The problem is you came storming into the thread attacking previous manager when the thread was started to highlight what the owners are doing to our club - it was not a thread aimed towards our current or previous manager

Suffering from Insomnia, hitting the bottle, depression, visiting the doctor a few times due to stress brought on due to two men from America killing and taking the p!ss out of something that we hold very dear to our hearts like its a family member. Enough is enough already, Im very very tired, weary, hurt, angry, upset, been on the verge of being an alchy, due to their sheer contempt for our football club. But I wont find the answer in the bottom of a bottle because the problem is still there the next day, and the next year and the year after that.

3 years its been, 3 long totally and utterly depressing years would you live with someone who treated you this way? No you wouldnt so why are we? Its about time we got tough with these pair of club rapers/asset strippers once and for all, and make it known we will not stand for this any longer !!!!

Was having a convo about them last week with me mum and dad and they agreed that this wouldnt have been aloud to happen in the 70's 80's these two would have been run out of town, never mind Anfield, Hick's son wouldnt have thought he could waltz in some boozer like he owned the place and just get swilled with a pint.
But now its "Ohhhhhh" dont agree with that what impression does that give of Liverpool fans?"
"Dont burn no flags" "SOS seen as to militant" really? I think we have been to soft and thats why these pair of asset strippers are getting away with murder !!!!

Its time to get angry and let them know we will not take this anymore, we have 2 months left before they are given a new re-finance because mark my words RBS will not put us into administration and this time next year instead of this low key firesale thats taking place infront of our very eyes Pepe Reina & Fernando Torres will be sold off.

And Tom Hicks & George Gillett will still be the owners, they are the only people I know that dont actually do a days work they live their luxurious lifestyles from other peoples misery and money because us football fans and banks let them.

I dont know how they sleep at night because I know I dont, they have no morals, no scrupples, no feelings, and no guilty conscience so why are some of our fans showing apathy towards them? Why is it some of our fans dont want to "Rock the boat" and shout. "Get behind the team & Roy"?

We tried that before when we nearly won the league 2 seasons ago but we didnt win it and they are still here, so getting behind the team helped a lot didnt it?
There has been zero investment into the playing squad 2 freebies Cole & Jovanovich, Poulson & Brad Jones Number 19 here we come.
Mascherano and Aqualini have been aloud to leave and Roy wont see a penny of that transfer money that will go straight off the debt.

Whats it going to take for people to wake up and see whats going on? I had some fans in a pub in town last week asking me who Tom & George where
And some other fans on here telling me I should fuck off and support someone else because Im not a proper fan going on about the owners, people born in liverpool support Liverpool or Everton, they dont just change like that and start supporting someone else, cause we arnt winning things and its these fans telling me I am not a Liverpool fan that are letting the owners away with muder by not giving a feck.

Some of us have been to hell and back with our club from the shame and sadness at Heysel to the dreadfull disaster of Hillsborough all fresh in our memory like it happened yesterday, we have been strong for each other and always had each others back, but now the fanbase is split in two, and has been divided through people being Anti/Pro Rafa, now its Anti/Pro Roy and you can see whats going to happen this season already, but Im not going into that because it will just cause more arguements instead of facing the real issue and this issue has to be sorted once and for all within the next 2 months we will either be in administration docked 9 points (if we have them) and will be Leeds/Portsmouth mark ii.

Or the owners will still be raping and pilaging the club if we let them. Well are we going to let them?

Im not because I and others have had enough, whats it going to take for some of you ostriches to get your head out the sand?
This is really our last throw of the dice folks YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU, MORE THAN EVER NOW.
Because if we continue to let this go on we wont have a club for much longer.

So your either with us or against us no splitters, get off that fence and get fucking shut of these pair of asset stripping b@stards NOW!!!!

No no no.

The topic for the post is that we no longer have the best midfield on the planet. The ORIGINAL unedited post by ciggy stated how dire our situation is now that we no longer have -

Sissoko
Alonso
Mascherano
Aquilani

I just took apart the reasons for each departure. You see not all have been sold to pay off debts. Arguably only Mascherano has.

Hence why I asked for balance when posting.

I personally will not lose any sleep over him leaving.

Yes he is Roy liked him when he worked with him years ago, but he is a defensive midfielder and has been brought in to replace the Argentine captain and world a world class player to boot.

The issue with Aquilani is not his fitness or ability, but the fact that we're a man light in midfield and no replacement as been brought in.

God help us if Gerrard gets injured

The money from the sale of Mascherano will be used to bring in another midfielder so we will have plenty of cover in there.

Two years ago we had a world class team close to winning the title - all we needed was a bit of extra funds to plug a few gaps but all we have done is sell to buy and not even use the full amount got for players - profit of 50 mil since jan 09 . We haven't moved up that next stage mainly down to our owners and the debt and lack of true funds available to strengthen squad .

We don't know that for sure - we need a left back and a striker as well- I can't see us getting the 16 mil to spend on players. And if we don't get the money IMO that is the reason the previous manager left

Is the mascherano money going to buy us another striker, central midfielder and a left back?
Because we need these positions filling before tuesday.

Good luck with that.................

Is that an original post?

Cos I saw something very similar on RAWK?

"Get behind the team & Roy"?

We tried that before when we nearly won the league 2 seasons ago but we didnt win it and they are still here, so getting behind the team helped a lot didnt it?

You onto a big loser if you are suggesting we don't back the team. I along with the vast majority here will ALWAYS back the team.

Lovely post Ciggy, and i agree with all of it 100%.
But believe me, you are not feeling anymore distraught about the situation with the owners than i am.

However, regarding Mascherano and Aquaman their departures are whats best for the club.

Masch WANTS to go because his family is depressed.  Based on your last post im sure you can appreciate that.  Don't get me wrong i don't like how he has gone about things, but people do desperate things when they are trying to protect/care for their loved ones.

Aquaman is a crock, and a serious drain on much needed funds.

So using their departures as a way to attack the owners is as tiresome and unneccesary as some of the others persistant attacks on rafa.
