If Torres does leave Liverpool, I would bet all I had that it wont be to another premiership club.

I agree, he's said in the past, when he leaves Liverpool its back to Spain
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.

Not really though is it?  Not even 1/4 of the debt.  Not to mention marketability and money from shirts etc.  From a business standpoint (let alone a footballing one) it makes no sense to sell Torres.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Them two will do anything to make money out of us and not bat an eyelid,

I honestly think he wants to be here though, he hasnt said otherwise , my only concern is what Roy said about him having problems not with the team or him , but within the club, those words have well and truley put the cat amongst the pidgeons, What beef has he got with the club, Roys words not mine,

Nan his problems with the club are surely twofold. Firstly he is fairly sure we won't win feck all because the team/squad isn't strong enough. We all know this, and without getting into tedious arguements/discussions about who's fault it is, barring something out of the ordinary his fears are probably well founded this season.

Secondly, and I personally think this is a BIG factor, we aren't in the Champions League. Now once again swerving the "but it's down to....." questions, it's worth considering what chance we'd have of signing someone of Torres's class given we finished 7th last season? Somewhere close to zero is the answer, and Torres will know that while David Villa is banging them in every week for Barcelona, and while they are in the Champions League semi finals being watched by 1.5 billion people Worldwide, we are going to be playing Trabzonspour in the last 16 of the Europa League Cup, watched by our loyal fan base on Channel Five with the Irish bloke presenting it, and watched by 5000 fanatical Trabzonsporians. While Villa will be capturing the Worlds imagination as his Barca team go head to head with Mourinho's Real Madrid in the most exciting Spanish Title race for years, Torres and us will need to eek out five points from our last three games to come out on top in our titanic battle with Spurs for fourth in the league. While David Villa is playing Tenerife Away, and the merest touch from a defender on his suntanned torso is immediately penalised, Torres will be getting the sh!t kicked out of him on a wet and windy Wednesday night at Birmingham.

I'm sure he has many beefs Nan. Some are nobodies fault it's just one of those things, others could have been avoided but there we are.

No Liverpool fans would like to see Torres leave. But it seems there is some animosity between him and the club. Hope Roy and Dalglish can convince him to stay cause you can't simply replace such a prolific scorer as well as a good person. The fact that we haven't heard anything from him to pledge to stay is a worrying sign. Even Roy said there is not much he can do....So far we had played 2 preseason and we had yet to score. I know we had rested many of our senior players but we can't ill afford to lose our best striker.

I dunno Mick , i just get the feeling that hes been duped as well as us fans, he signs a contract extension with promises made here and there and them promises are all fruitless, I cant see him going any where for money call me stupid but i believe he is about more than that. Otherwise he wouldnt of stayed at Athletico all them years, playing in the Europa cup, and all,  I am just confused with what Roy said regarding his situation, As i said he has no problems with the team or the manager ,

Oh and i wont be watching on channel 5 listening to some Irish fella , i will be at the matches maybe listening to some Irish fella standing next to me

And Javier has just turned up at Melwood , so let his saga begin now and all

The team might win something, Mick, if our star striker could stay fit for more than 20 games this season.  Glass half full.

i'm sure his beef with the club is exactly the same as the rest of us. that we are saddled with owners and executives that are completely the wrong people to be in charge, and that until they are gone its going to be very difficult to get back amongst the elite. if he thinks this can be resolved by next season and that we can do well enough this season to qualify for the CL then it should be enough to make him stay. if he thinks its going to take much longer (which sadly it probably will) he will be wondering whether as one of the stars of international football he'll want to be playing europa cup football at best during the peak years of his career.
