As for Forlan. He'd be good as a partner but as his replacement? No thanks. Id want someone younger like Dzeko or Lukaku. Besides we have already seen how he plays in the premiership - shyte. No ex mancs please.

Regarding Micks post. it wasnt me who brought up our previous manager , as far as im concerned there was no need to bring him into the converstation at all, but Lakes rubbish talk  of how he felt misunderstood and all this about going into boardrooms , well im sorry but as i said i didnt wanna bring him up as this is a Fernando thread ,but i couldnt just let it lie, because its rubbish

Don't see why anyone could call for us to sell Torres or Gerrard for cash.  Would seem to me that player swaps would be the only way to ensure that we get equal value coming back into the club.

I know you didn't bring it up Nan, you were responding to Lakes (who is probably talking b0ll0cks IMHO). The thing is, neither of you nor anybody else knows who is right, if indeed either of you are. My own guess, as I stated in my post, is that Torres is getting itchy feet over things which have nothing to do with the previous manager, nothing to do with the club even. He's gutted that he wasn't really part of Spains World Cup winning team. That's the be all and end all of it, and he wants to make sure that next time around he is.

As for Forlan being 32, I didn't know that. Feck 20 mill then, 10 would be nearer, if that infact.

he was told that money was to be spent on new players last year and felt that the players taken to the club were poor. He felt that he was not used in the right way and felt that he had to play other roles to fill missing gaps.
he felt missunderstood by the manager and felt the club did not help him.

on the other side to this the club did deal with he thing about the manager.

Im sorry Lakes but that is Bull. :censored: misunderstood and he walked in to the board room. if thats the case , and i dont want to bring this up as this thread is not about him. but they interviewed the Spanish National team just before the world cup , asking each player who was the one person who gave the best advice to them since they were kids, and held in high esteem, Fernandos answer was Rafa Benitez, and ive read that interview with my own eyes. ill tryand  find it. Some players said there dads . others said either a coach when they were younger or now, So i think what your saying is rubish .i think i believe Fernando more that what your saying . because the words came from him.

Can we not just have one thread where we don't continuously hark back to the previous manager?

Just for once lets cut the b0ll0cks about the previous manager either being his mentor or the reason he wants away.

Whatever your 'views' about the 'previous manager' Mick.. u can't alter what the palyers have said about him and it is a fact that Torres has credited Rafa with his personal improvement as a footballer.

Torres is right , he has his conecrns as we all do - look at the doom and gloom amongst 'all' LFC forums.. the owners are the problemo here, the direction of the club and LFC's ability to be competitive.

It is right that the club should sweat over this, because the hierarchy have behaved appaulingly, with everyone connected with this club - I pray he stays, as I've said before, a 50% fit Torres is betta then anything else our £ could buy.

The current onwership issue and treatment of the ofrmer manager has set a dangerous precedent Mick.. If Torres has issue with the hierarchy over promises broken and the treatemnt of the 'former manager', that is not harknen back fella.. that is asking the question (and rightly so) 'how do I know you won't bulls'it us all again - how can you be trusted?'
