it's only a matter of time before liverpool are confirmed to be playing CL football next season. But will we be equipped well enough to hack it with teams like real madrid and barca??
one thing's for sure, we'll need to make plenty of signings and have a deep, quality choice of players.

even if we do finish 4th we are still not guaranteed cl as there are some very good teams in the qualifiers.

We've got a good enough squad...a few signings...a new manager...new owner by the looks of it...we'll make it at least to the last 16 i hiope.

i think with the quality we had last season, we shudda gone far but then we lost the run of ourselves and had two s##t seasons. last 16 is a tall order but i think over 2 legs we'd be able for most teams

I DON'T THINK YOU CAN SAY WE EVEN HAD 2 AVERAGE SEASONS. AND I'VE GOTTEN BEHIND THE TEAM IN THE LAST 2 SEASONS THAN EVER

In My opinion very much so , we have the game that suits European footbal, particualrly away and with Gerard, Owen, Cisse and Kewell all firing should do well.

IF we qualify and lets all hope we do, we will be seeded in the qualifiers so will avoid Italian, Spanish, Germans etc..... and then hopefully get the rub of the green in the group stage.

We have to develop more consistency and perform better at Home but the signs are good

Dalglish, until and unless we have a defence that can cope with skillful European opponents who are champions or top 3 in their own country, we will not make past the group stage easily of get knocked out in the last 16.

The way I see it, Liverpool needs more creativity in the middle, more speed in defense and far more tactical flexibility to deal with different kinds of opponents in the champions' league. Otherwise, we will always get beaten by the likes of Valencia or Porto who play a very fast counter-attacking game and get hit on the break, especially at home.

With the present squad, Liverpool should have a decent chance but the style of play and the cumbersome defense will severely restrict our chances. perhaps Houllier will do some wonders with new additions during the summer and become tactically more astute.

Experience's also proven that we need some oldcracks, like Hamann (McAllister to the UEFA cup).
Would you guys think we need some "disposable incomers" (with great respect) like him or Litmanen?
and fortunately the other UEFA veterans are still there: Owen, Gerrard, Hyypia, Carragher etc.
So it's more down to GH how he'd like to mix things up.
Methinks, we have the guts to run thru. (With a little help from Cisse, or other future greatcomers, hopefully)

i just wanna see us get through the qualifiers ... wait, backtrack
i just wanna see us get 4th, then qualify, then go from there. Would be ncei to visit the bernabau instead of some polish 2nd division club
