I dont want to point fingers. Worrying thing is he wants to see how long he will be out for before he makes his mind up to leave or stay? I fail to see how hius injury could affect him going or staying.

As for the liverpool scarf, Mr smith once kissed his leeds badge, look where he ended up

Perhaps he should have kissed the badge, that's a surefire guarantee that someone is staying at whichever club!

He either stays or goes, if he does go we'd better get the £70m he is worth given his age and prolific scoring rate. If he stays then he'd better find fitness or we'll just be constantly nursing him and wondering how many games it will be before he's injured again. In some ways the £70m might be better for the club
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

We just need to hang onto him until we are sold which should be end of this year. Then we can bring in another established to play up along side him.

I really hope that he stays if not just for another year. Torres has always showed signs that he is dedicated to the club  but i suppose whether anyone comes in for him could really depend on how bad his latest injury is. This Premier League football blog claims that even another injury would not put Chelsea off signing him as they'll believe they have the backroom team to manage any problem the striker has, and will be far more interested in the fact that whenever he was fit last season he scored goals. While this is all true i hope more that anything that he remains, but if he has to go it needs to be sooner rather than later so Hodgson has time to bring in some quality striking replacements for him.

Be positive lads..... I'd rather be a reds fan than a bitter, manc or cockney. No matter what the situation, we'll always be red.

Fernando Torres quickly ditches Liverpool scarf to show true colours on World Cup victory parade

By Sportsmail Reporter

It was the picture that gave Liverpool fans hope: Fernando Torres proudly wearing a club scarf in the aftermath of Spain's World Cup glory.

The Reds' official website even dubbed it the 'best pic you'll see all year' - it has been a pretty bad 12 months at Anfield - and a clear indication of his love for the club.

But by the time the striker had swapped Johannesburg for a return home, there was also a quick change of attire too.

Gone was the Liverpool neckwear for an open-bus parade around the Spanish capital - in its place an Atletico Madrid scarf.

The 26-year-old also draped himself in a flag of his first club and appeared to tie an Atleti 'Torres No 9' shirt to the vehicle's top-deck railings.

Madrid memories: Torres wears an Atleti scarf yesterday (left), three years after wearing the club's red and white strip

The prolific goalscorer has never hidden his love for the Spanish club and counts his connection with their fans as a reason why he would have reservations about playing for Real Madrid.

So does the scarf show Torres wants to head back to Atleti? Of course not - but perhaps it shows Liverpool fans were a bit too quick to paint his earlier scarf-wearing as a sign that the player was staying at Anfield. laugh.gif :censored:.gif

Roy Hodgson admits he needs to convince his star players that Merseyside is the place to be despite a lack of Champions League football this season and the new boss urgently wants face-to-face talks with Torres.

Chelsea have made a £40million bid and Barcelona are also interested. Torres has often voiced his love and commitment to English football's most decorated team, but often with the caveat that they need to bring in world class reinforcements this summer.

With a small budget making that unlikely, Torres was ambiguous about his future when questioned in South Africa. He wanted to wait until after the World Cup, now Liverpool are the ones who are waiting.

Why would he want to wind up real fans?

Perhaps he read the disloyal comments from the Reds fans here the night before the parade!
