3-1 down and needing goals and Capello brings Heskey on!! :laugh:

FFS £6 mill a year for that...absolute joke...tell ya what FA give me £500 a week and some beer and I'll play the best team and put players were they are best used and maybe talk to them in proper English as opposed to anglo italian......di'cks! :laugh:

All things considered Capello was a disaster. We should have sent in Ricky Tomlinson as backup.

What a pity that illegal first goal, and that Mexico had their CB Onsorio at a pathetic level. I really liked Mexico this tournament and that young striker chicharrito has future in football.

Fair play to the Argentinians, their collective play is not great, but their attacking power is devastating even without a great Messi.

Totally agree baz, i was shaking my head.

I think Capello despite his club record has been poor in this tournament.
He made the same mistakes as with previous managers playing Gerrard out of position to accomodate other players and didnt get the best out of Rooney.
England where battered today, no excuses.
And imo they are not THAT bad.

i disagree with some decisons but he is a top manager but the players are not good enough.

England is not a top football country and never has been and just like an alcoholic has to admit the problem, England has to admit this - blaming every single manager you ever have ensures you stay a second level team.

Grass roots football has to move away from hustle and bustle and kick and rush brainless football.

SG is world class when he has a clever player like Alonso next to him. Same with lampard with makelele or ballack but until england produces playere like alonso,ballack,makelele you'll stay a second rate footballing country.

I got blasted here for saying it but England are NOT quality. Since I watched football in 1986 world cup the only knock games england have ever won are Paraguay,belgium,cameroon,one win in 2002 and equador - does that sound like a top country?

Who said they were quality?

I said they have quality players. Football is a team game though.

On the other side, Uruguay don't have top quality players (except for a few) and neither do Germany (who have 3 or 4), but both are quality teams.

Uruguay (with a population of 4m ) are better than England. They press together as a unit and are very solid, they have superior technique and ball control, pass better and move better.
