I think he faired better, his movement was much better tonight and found himself in better positions which I think was helped by playing alongside Defoe. It enables Rooney to wonder or go looking for the ball and to drop off deeper (in his more natural position imo) while Defoe holds his position as a striker. Alongside Heskey Rooney is a little more restricted in where he can move because he's the focal point. Heskey at times ends up at right back or center half leaving Rooney upfront to play with his back to goal. Because Defoe offers a genuine goal threat and doesn't have the urge to play fullback it allows Rooney that little more freedon, all in my opinion of course.

ye agree just thought crouch and defoe would of caused them more problems. Plus if germany draw and serbia win germany could go out anyone confirm that 4me

Yeah if Serbia win they will have 6pts and with a German draw Germany would be out as Ghana would have 5 to Germany's 4.
