I think John Terry is the most dominant person. SG really has to take him on.

Stevie knows that Terry will make some sort of blunder in the next game. He is playing it cool.

Gerrard doesn't appear to be a vocal captain, he's less talk, more walk as opposed to JT who is usually in bed with his best mates woman.

Another thing I hate about England is the constant need to talk, English players do far too much talking, they talk up a good game, but when it comes to the crunch, they are nowhere to be found. It sickens me, it really does.

English football needs changing from top to bottom, it's in dire straights and has been for years. No amount of CL and Premiership medals that English players get can alter this stone cold fact.

Terry can tell more lies to the camera than Gerrard is willing to, thats why I think Terry done the conference anyway

btw theres a rumour doing the rounds that Rooney's chinned Terry   - no I'm not believing it at all, just thought it was funny :D

and Kakas card wasnt deserved at all IMO, he's not even looking

woof woof ! wrote:Well this world cup is certainly providing some upsets.

Germany lose to Serbia , Spain to Switzerland and France to Mexico. Meamwhile England can only draw with USA and Algeria whilst the Italians can only do the same against Paraguay and New Zealand.

Surely the top table of european football haven't all similtaneously become sh'ite ?

The saying "there's no easy games at international level anymore" definately seems to be coming true in this competition.

Wasn't there a similar 'decline' (for want of a better word) in 2002 when the World Cup was last held outside of Europe?

2002 "upsets"

France 0-1 Senegal
South Korea 2-0 Poland
USA 3-2 Portugal
South Korea 1-0 Portugal
Mexico 1-0 Croatia
Croatia 2-1 Italy
Mexico 1-1 Italy
Ecuador 1-0 Croatia
Japan 2-2 Belgium
Japan 1-0 Russia
Tunisia 1-1 Beligum
South Korea 2-1 Italy
Sweden 1-2 Senegal
Spain 0-0 South Korea

Europe only made up half the eight quarter-finalists in 2002 which is the lowest since 1970 and joint lowest overall

I note the Africans are doing pants as usual, one win in TWELVE games so far, most teams ever in a World Cup the only reason they will rack up their most games ever in a World Cup. Four wins between them in any World Cup is their record

[color=red[But here's a $m question, when (if ever) have the two previous World Cup finalists BOTH failed to progress from the 1st round of the next World Cup? France could be dumped out if Mexico and Uruguay play out a draw, Italy have control
of their own destiny, if they beat Slovakia then Paraguay and New Zealand can't both win their head to head and a draw would only leave the kiwis on three points.

I wouldn't use "not looking" as a defence, I could elbow someone I know is behind me without looking at them.

But FIFA should act on the ridiculous playacting that a few players have indulged in. I've seen more than one player who has gone down holding their face as if someone has hit them across the face with a golf club, when in fact the contact was minimal and nowhere near where they are holding - like last night that saw Kaka see a second yellow.

I know a lot of them see it as "part of the game", and what makes me even more angry is retards on forums who accept the unacceptable saying it is "part of the game". It's not acceptable, it isn't part of the game  :veryangry FIFA need to act on their hot air, their policies against racism, "fair play" etc are all well and good in theory, but they do nothing to back them up. Here will be another fine example I'm sure, they go against everything FIFA claims to stand for, yet FIFA stands for it (as it were)

Simply send play-actors home, give red cards against divers in the box either during games or after the games. They'll soon cut it out, the problem at the moment is punishment is feeble (yellow card) and rare(ly applied). Even if players hide behind the excuse of their actions as "automatic response", like handling the ball, they can still come clean and tell the referee they handled it, no foul was committed etc. They'd point out quickly enough if their opponent handled, dived, fouled them etc.............................

Said the same thing about Chile before the world cup started Mike , they were superb in the qualifiers and South Americas cup, little battlers with a lot of heart , skillful but passionate , with some very taletnted players

Big Niall wrote:Should John Terry be saying that his club teammate should be playing?

he should be sent home for undermining both his captain and the manager yesterday for "speaking his mind". the guy is an egocentric grade a nob who's still clearly narked about losing the captaincy. nothing will happen though because we need him as we don't have adequate cover.

if ever you wanted evidence of how ridiculous player power is these days though you only have to look at this world cup with england and france. absolute joke.
