That wasn't Canary accent, that's the accent of an english speaking man with south american fathers, a bit like Hurley, but less evident.
I have no idea why the chose Tenerife. I'm Lost in this season too.

i think, though, that when we look back after it has all finished we'll be remembering it as one of the most epic, enjoyable, maddening, captivating and spectacularly preposterous things we've ever had the pleasure to dedicate a few years of our lives to on the telly.
