well sorry people, but i do enjoy it. i dnot wanna quit, so i wont. theres no point. when and if i get the will to quit, i will somehow, but right now i dont wanna. I still play footy twice a week, can still run around the pitch for 90 minutes and i walk everywhere. I dont owna  car so i get some more healthyness by walking.
The fact is that smoking does smell, but so do cars (which fumes cause a lot of problems associated with cancer, but no one will admit it as the money made from cars is massive. Also as cigarettes are addictive they can blame them as no one will do nything.)
now lets look at how much cigs cost. to make: £1. To buy: £5
lets say i smoe 20 a day, im paying £4 to the tax people. Thats £1460 a year goes from my [pockets into hospitals. Now how many people smoke? 3 million? thats...4380 million a year givenby smokers to hospitals. How much to hospitals spend a year on smoke related causes? Not that much.

So when the left wing liberals out there next turn their noses up at people like me, just remember: tobacco was made since the beginning of time, and u know that at times theres nothing betetr than that cigarette (i dont care how long its been since u quit, u all remember that fantastic cigarette)

Now im off for a smoke, peace out :blues:

The cost per annum to the NHS of treating smoking related illness is greater than the tax revenue from duty on tobacco

Source: Office of National Statistics

Sorry Dawsonio, smoke if you want but the money argument doesn't stack up :kungfu:

the office of national statistics is lying to u, as is the government. they can lie all they want when something is addictive. Plus they dont take into cnosideration the fumes from cars and that link to cancer.

There's a million and one ways to get ill, smoking being one of the more expensive options however you look at it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an anti-smoking fascist. If somebody wants to smoke then fine, we're all adults who can accept the consequences of our decisions but you don't need a flawed financial argument to smoke

I think it should be banned in public places. I am fed up of walking by a bunch of smokers and having to inhale there *****

As a chronic asthmatic, I think something does need to be done about making it safer for people like me with weak lungs to go out with friends at night and enjoy ourselves without ending up in hospital on a respirator becasue someone wants to smoke next to us. :(

I quit on the 8th of January 2005 and I've been 100% clean since then.

I used to be a 20-25 B&H man for a long, long time. :blues:
