i have had chicken rice many times, even at the aptly named 'chicken rice shop'.

there was a restaurant on bukit bintang in Kl near where i lived called 'only mee'. (mee is the name for noodles). it was unintentional but always made me laugh

To be honest though - it was a right sh*thole where I got it from! Me and my mate had a bet to see who could finish it. We didn't get past dipping the nan breads in it!

As far as I am aware, the World's enviromentalists are still to this day trying to find a way to pacify the fecker!

I have a friend now who owns a takeaway, and he's a fully-trained Indian chef, so I'll ask him to make me one next time I'm in, but to leave the enriched uranium alone!

You'll all thank me for this

Woofs homemade (kind of ) Curry . It will take you an hour but trust me, people will worship you.

One Jar of Pataks Tikka Massala sauce
One onion
One bunch of Coriander
Half pint of single cream
Six Chicken thighs
One Tablespoon Vindaloo paste (Pataks do a good one)
One tub of Tsatziki (Greek yogurt infused with mint and garlic)
Couple of Nan breads
(all the above available at any supermarket)

Chop up and fry the onion (low heat ,don't burn it )
Add the Vindaloo paste and fry for 30 seconds
Chuck in and sear (singe) the Chicken .
Add the Tikka Massala sauce (you can add half a cup of water if you want lots of sauce)
Cover and simmer for 40 minutes (on lowest heat possible)

Add cream and stir
Dish up on a bed of steamed bismati rice (Tilda brand )with chopped coriander sprinkled on top of the curry

The Nan bread(warmed in the oven for a few mins) and Greek Tzatzika are of course side dishes .

I will stand this dish up against any Indian restaurant produced curry anyday anywhere .

Believe me lads , Gordon Ramsey would offer you a job if he tasted this and any bird you feed it to will become you slave .

You DO NOT want to be sitting across from someone who's new to this stuff though...

A year or so back some mates and I went out for a curry and one guy decided he'd show us how hard he was by ordering the Vindaloo. His strategy was to eat the whole plate of it as fast as he could, reasoning that it wouldn't burn as much that way. WRONG!!!

I was sitting across from this fecker and it was like the sideshow at a circus: he had the sweats, snot was pouring out of his nose into his lap and he was non-stop breathing his funky Vindaloo and Kingfisher breath all over me. Plus, his eyes had the freaky "I can see through time" glaze to them...completely put me off my own dinner!

BTW, as far as I'm concerned, nothing beats a nice chicken jalfrezi--a good blend of spices and some lovely chunky onions and tomatoes to accent...brilliant!

That sounds like the one time I was gullable and supped a spoonful of tobasco sauce like it was ice cream.

You know that really firey dip you get with the poppadoms? We convinced my mate to eat the whole thing at once for a fiver. He did it. And then 2 minutes later he's chucking it all up in the toilet. Ahhh... Memories...

If you ever get a chance to eat a Handi, take it. It's medium hot a full of flavour. They do it at the Sheer Khan, it's the daddy!

I go through fazes. I started on the Korma, then rogna Josh, then Chicken Tikka masala, then Kagarni and now I'm on the Lamb saag's, bloody lovely!!!!
Can't beat a good curry, yum yum yum!
