Number 2, 11 and 12 are not allocated. I wonder if that means we might have players waiting to take up those numbers. Not that numbers mean that much any more, but Carra is 23, Xabi is 14 and Nando is 19, which would have made them squad players in the 'old days'! Interesting that Dudek has the number one shirt.

Also, Traore has been signed on a long-term deal.

Zenden and Reina have been given thier numbers:

Zenden 30
Reina 25

But Reinas number might change if Dudek goes.

i think we can squad numbers mean nothing in terms of starting places/positions when baros is no. 5

I think the number 7 shirt should be taken off Kewell. The greatest have worn that number and he is not fit do so. If Figo comes then he would be the type of player that would wear it with pride and quality of an outstanding individual???

Out of the current players, only Gerrard or Alonso would have the class to wear the No.7 shirt

And the answer to your question ....What do the new squad numbers indicate..? IMO it indicates we have a BIG squad when Zenden gets the number 30 shirt

According to the official LFC website ALT will be wearing 13 and Potter 34 when the season starts.

Talking of a big squad, Robbie Foy has claimed the number 42 shirt...though not all the preceding numbers have been snapped up.

I'm still waiting for a Centre Back to claim the number 2 shirt, but there's no panic yet.
