OK LATEST NEWS! Xabi is not going to Fenerbahce. This is a done deal. I still thought that there was something going on, but nope. Unless LFC sell him to Arsenal, he seems to be trying to win the CL over Fenerbahce

It's gone from, 'yes, he has signed precontracts and will be here in two days...' The fee is 'x', his contract is 'x', he will be a big signing for Fener....Forza Fener    etc...
Now he's not going, there never was an agreement, and it's utter bollocks.

Sorry don't know where to put this on this forum but i've been let down with lift to tomorrows game.I live in Eastleigh,Southampton and have a spare Kop ticket I will swap this for a lift there and back.Please help!

Just so you know a little more, Fenerbahce also made official statements on their official site about R. Carlos and Lugano. They are currently playing at FB. Is this your only argument?

Now this could still be a plan by Fenerbahce side. They might very well be bluffing. I think they are trying to speed up the signing process so Xabi could play next week for Fener. I still would not conclude that this official statement from the club itself is very true. Fener is notorious about using their official site for ultimatoms etc. We'll see what happens next week...

The press say a lot of things, days before I went on a miniholidays, you were considering as a fact he'd be a Fenerbahce player, I come back from the holidays and still no news and the player making the preseason.

In Italy they were saying the same things before this, they even were claiming the player was going to have a medical the next day.

I won't deny it always seemed as if he was going to leave, little details like Alonso not appearing in the photos of next season shirt in liverpoolfc.tv site (he was a regular to appear in those adverts), Rafa's words, Barry incoming, were all indicators that Xabi was going but we never know the truth from outside. We don't know whether Rafa is unhappy with Alonso or just wants to ask him more, a kind of "you've been 4 years here, it's time you get more responsabilities in the team" message, which btw, I think it's a fair one.

I hope Xabi gets the message and gives 110% to complete an excellent season.

, spot on , been one of his biggest critics , but i have to say i have been impressed at how he has turned it  around this euro's and in the pre season , hopefully this is the return of the xabi alonso that we all saw in his first two seasons

I think this will be a good wake up call for Xabi. Although I didn't think he needed one. May be it is a wake up call for rafa. So that he plays him all the time instead of....um.... what is word?...
