I love his respect for the club and its history... I truely believes that he's one of the fans... yeah and I like what most of Sabre said... the guy's a true gentleman... competitive, obsessive, but not cheap and dirty...

The silence from many of the posters who have ridiculed anybody who dared to even slightly criticise over the last four seasons has been deafening at times.

Firstly mate this isnt a thread on rotation its a what do you like about Rafa`s personality thread.
Secondly, even though ive never been a hard line pro rotationer your constant jibes like the one above is starting to get on my wick, what exactly do you want from them? I could answer that for you but i`ll leave it to your eloquent self.
Also bearing in mind the folks that have been backing the boss, steadfast this past few years are the "in Rafa we trust" lot, so they`ll back him when he rotates and when he doesnt wether they think its right or not they`ll get in line behind the boss.

All that and above all else...his Humility. The lack of any ego (displayed) and his empathy with the supporters, alongside being one of the top coaches in the game the fella is, or at least comes across as, a genuine and honest master of his art that 'perhaps' has found a spiritual home in Liverpool. He has a great sense of wit and humour about him as well...really endearing qualities. As a man-manager? Well, thats another debate entirely.

I`d echo that but also add dignity. Also you`ll never see him attack a ref, a fellow manager or player and he`d never blame a defeat on the colour of our tops.
His focus is always 100% on his team and his fans, and IMO he`s a total cut above in that respect.

Apart from his comments about warnock, about everton and most importantly his petulance against his own employers during a press conference, then let's look at his comments which are always the same whether we were great or garbage, that's really respecting the fans, personally I would prefer honesty from the manager.

I agree mate that Rafa's after match press conferences often have me fuming, as he doesn't seem to address the issues that affected the result. However to be fair what can he say ......

When Shankly, Paisley and Dalglish were winning trophies they didn't have to think up something to say after EVERY GAME. They could pick and choose when and if they wanted to speak to the press, and more often than not they chose not to.

If a manager says anything more controversial than "we played well ", its headline news, twisted and altered to create bigger and better stories, who can blame him or any manager for playing it safe? 

The other side of the coin is that in the "good ole' days " players were hung drawn and quartered by their contracts..... a player was unhappy with the manager...... tough, you're staying. A player wanted to leave ...... hard lines, you're staying. You're unhappy you have been dropped ...... you're staying.

Today, managers have to be much more circumspect and can't be so "honest" about players. Players have so much money a fine means nothing , and if they get too upset they know they can sit on a bench getting paid for 6 months and then get a move. The power shift between players and the club has swung completely round and managers have to deal with it.

Ok mate go on then remind me what Warnock said about us and what Rafa said about him, what was it? a single line from Rafa.
Everton ARE a small (minded) club, is that not honesty?
And as for petulance agaist the owners, give me a fkin brake, he was letting the fans know there was a problem with that two scum bags, again honesty.
If you cant see any good in our gaffa then the problem is yours not his, no one made you enter an obviously possitive thread.
I find it funny that in this his 5th season thats all you could come up with to back up your claim, three very weak examples.

i love him because he seems like a real person, not a hyped up superstar and that he brought us back to the very top of European football and has kept us there so that all my frustration of watching Champions League coverage as a teenager, watching those stinkin Mancs lift that trophy have been melted away. He doesn't go out of his way to try and say something controversial.

Head down, get on with business. He also never gets ahead of himself.

irrespective of whether its one line or not, your comment was that you would NEVER see rafa do these things, i highlighted a few for you to show that NEVER is not quite the right word to use when he has in fact been guilty of all the things you say he would never do.
