We need to baton down the hatches - Must stay positive

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby kazza » Mon Nov 15, 2004 12:22 pm

Sat, 20th   A   Middlesbro (PREM.)

Tue, 23rd  A   Monaco (U.C.L.)

Sun, 28th  H   Arsenal (PREM.)

Sat, 4th    A    Aston Villa (PREM.)

Wed, 8th   H   Olympiakos (U.C.L.)

Sat, 11th  A   Everton (PREM.)

Where as our last month (schedule wise) was relatively easy, our next month will be more challenging. We have some tough games ahead, and not dropping too many points is of vital importance if we are to do well this year.

Staying positive is important, and we must not lose our way because after these games we have the gruelling christmas schedule, where if we don't play well and with confidence, may lose too much ground.

Having Gerrard and Nunez return, and the opening of the transfer window, will hopfully give us a boost at an important time.

Benitez has said he is worried about the fitness of Baros as well, with his recent and all. He alsmot pulled baros off (oo-er, u know what i mean) in the crystal palace game because of the amount of running baros was doing and does not want him to play mid week in  WC qualifier for the czechs.

lets just hope all the players stay fit and come back ready to face the 'boro

Like your style Cisse
If it's a good enough excuse for the scum & whinging Wenger, why not try it ourselves
Does look like a tough period coming up - we've got cover in most areas now (maybe not the same standard as the first 11) - but up front is worrying me a lot
If Baros gets injured - that could be us out the Champions League and down to 12th in the League in a flash
I'm gonna make some Voodoo dolls for all the defenders he's playing against - stick pins in them as soon as they go near him !!!

yeh - good point

not sure if some are friendlies & some qualifiers
or all friendlies

pity most national sides aren't like ours - not much chance of picking up an injury with Svens 27 substitutions
alas - other national coaches adopt the - lets stick with the same side so they get used to playing together

Middlesbro (PREM.) - are extremely tough with their new revamped squad.

Monaco (U.C.L.) - are very dangerous with their new strikers and our runners up in the CL

Arsenal (PREM.) - are one of the best in Europe, very hard to beat

Aston Villa (PREM.) - we will beat

Olympiakos (U.C.L.) - they did beat us once upon a time

Everton (PREM.) - our above us in the table even with our game in hand and will play extra hard cos we're their rivals.

Don't get me wrong i hope we win every game and i'm remaining positive. i'm just saying the truth about these teams and it will be tough, you make it sound so easy

Thats cause hes thick and hasnt got a clue chiggz :glare:
If we get 3 wins out of them 6 games count ourselves lucky.

If we beat monaco we are through, so that will take the pressure off beating olymiakos. And beating them aswell will be good for confidence and hopefully knock them out depending whos in the top of the group by then.
Evertons going to be a tough game as is arsenals wont hear the last of it if the bluenoses beat us, but on saturday against brum they where absolute rubbish, we should have beaten them its really frustrating to throw away 3 points like that :( .
so say 3 wins and a draw we would be in good form, to progress further anything else is a bonus. :)

Boro are weak at home, they haven't delievered the results at home as they have on the road so we can use that as an advantage. Zenden and Downing are the two players to watch out for, when they play good Hasselbaink plays well and they score.
