I rather watch a team play pure top football and not win some thing then playing :censored: football liek chavski and win every thing.

Thats the bit I don't agree with, if it came down to winning the league or playing great football I would take the league any day of the week. To have both would be better but if I had to choose then I would take the league, that's just my opinion though.  :lookaround

spot on...Liverpool FC is a club famous all over the world  and its the history of our famous club that adds pressure, not just us.

Leg Barnes complains

I never said we didnt surport the team mate i said the pressure is growing more each season mabye due to fact man u is right behind us now.

I also havent said at any point that pressure is reason we are not performing i said its reason why rafa dont play youth players more often i wish people would read instead of skimming or just grasp some basic logic ffs.

I never said you said all that. :D

I never attacked this thread neither. It's my way of posting mate, I referred to your post in the first sentence, I don't agree the gist of it, but I consider a good thought for debate, and the thread gathers the necessary "seriousness" in terms of developing a idea to be worthy of discussion -- not just the simple one liner and discuss.

From that point, I take the topic, "Us fans hurting our chances", and I develop my own post. But it wasn't a reply to your points, but to the topic, it was just a contribution of my own, and from a different point of view.

Stick around, mate.  I think Mick might have a word or two thousand to say on that subject when he logs in! :D

:D Don't even get me started. When I talked out the sheer ridiculousness of our selection policy at times last season, I couldn't ever think of a better example (with the possible exception of playing Crouch left-wing against Reading).

I agree that the kids should be playing in the Carling Cup, along with a couple of first teamers. I like the idea of making Lucas captain, telling the young keeper he's in every game, Nemeth he's in from the start, Insua etc etc. Tell them what the team is, we're going all out to win it but regardless of how far we get and who we play, we won't be bringing the big guns in. If we make the final, the kids will play at Wembley.

If we play Reading away, then we really don't need to see Torres getting kicked from pillar to post, even if he did score a hat-trick. It was funny that tat the time some people tried to claim that it was some sort of tactical masterstroke to rest him and then play him in that match  :sleep, as opposed to as near an admission as you could get that we''d managed to make a complete nonsense of the situation.

No doubt some of those same people will be claiming it as a masterstroke of genius to eventually keep Alonso should he go out and have a stormer this season. I can just see it now, "thank God Rafa put the block on the transfer. He was never actually going to sell Xabi, he just did it to stir him up, brilliant man management   :D ".

I'm only kidding before the usual suspects start having palpatations, but they did say the thing about the Torres hat-trick. Incredible really.

Right first of all im not sure i get the topic of the thread. But ill have my twopeneth worth anyway  even if it doesnt make sense.

Imo its not the pressure from the fans its the pressure of having to finish in the top 4 to generate the revenue that comes with playing in the champions league.

Gone are the days when you will see a group of kids come through together like they did with the mancs. In this modern dayfootball  buissness malarky its all about money sadly. I would love to see Nemeth an a couple of others get strarts in varied games next season.

As far as fan backing goes im a match going fan an ill still stake my claim that were the best fans in football, we might slate the odd player in the pubs or on here but we always get behind the lads at games. So id say no were not hurting our chances but the reward of finacial pressure is.

does that make sense cause it doesnt to me
i can never type properly what i wanna say.

Our fans hurting our chances? Hmmm...NO!

In fact, it's the antithesis of that. If it weren't for the fans of this club, our boy's heads would have dropped on a number of crucial occasions and lost a trophy or two. We've kept this club's head above water and supported our players though hard times enough to make them believe, enough to keep the traditions alive. So, I disagree with the opening post. If you're looking to point the finger of blame, then it can't be pointed at any one man, as the state of the club and the way it's been run has failed to move with the times. I reckon we were close to being 10 years behind before Houllier took over, nevermind Rafa. Rafa has brought us several years closer to repairing that gap IMO. He's restored our pride in Europe for sure.
