Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Come on then everyone. How do you think it will pan out tonight. I think a narrow 1-0 win for Liverpool. An Owen penalty 70min.

Yeah I think (hope!) we might sneak it.
Our away form in Europe has been pretty good.

Why do all the fans of the teams we meet in Europe this season do this? It was the same with Sofia.

Marseille are an ok side, and I think both they and Liverpool are evenly matched. I won't underestimate Marseille, but I think they have made the mistake of underestimating our away form in Europe.

GH is not perfect but he has managed to coax a lot of good performances out of Liverpool this season on the continent and I have a feeling we could get a good result tonight.

If that Cameo-lookalike knob is there tonight I think the ref should award us a penalty straight away! Mind you, if Owen took it that c#nt would still be laughing.

I think tonight's result depends on how Marseille set their stall out. If they come out all cocky and come at us we'll beat them as that will play to our strengths. 1-0 or 2-1.

If they sit back and soak up pressure from us I think they'll beat us 1-0 by hitting us on the break with a goal from that diving tw#t Drogba

My sincerest hope is that if we get a penalty it's not Owen taking it.

2-0 Gerard and Baros scorers

And yeah I hope we don't get any penalties, it'll just end up with Owen missing it and having no confidence for the rest of the game.

our away record in europe under houllier is amazingly good. i think we've only lost 2 out of about 30 games. as for tonight i think we'll win 2-1. owen and gerrard to score.

i don't exactly know what milan baros or stephane henchoz have done to offend gerard houllier but i wouldn't be surprised if they both started on the bench again tonight. houllier's favouring of heskey and biscan is absolutely staggering to me. i think he'll play this team.

           carragher        biscan         hyypia         riise

Favouing Biscan't over Henchoz is baffling. Sometimes you can argue that Heskey's sheer physical size can be an advantage especially against a foreign side not used to the physical English game, but Heskey doesn't consistently use his strength well and as for attacking ability Baros is worth ten of him. I'd start with Baros any day of the week.

i don't think you'll find many people who disagree with you on that one. it beggers belief that biscan and heskey cost 16.5M between them.
