Tonight - Who will win?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Rimetto » Thu Mar 25, 2004 3:53 pm

i think we'll win 2 - 0 Kewell and Gerrard ( Captain Couragous )

I hope GH finally pulls his head out of his A*** and drops biscan. I can't beleave he keeps picking the F**Kin idiot. Maybe he should watch one of the games in the stands with the fans because obviously his view is restricted from the touchline.

Come on the lads. Show them stinking garlic eating renault driving arrogant Pr***s that they should never think disrespect Liverpool FC. After all what have they ever achieved compared to us.

it's a massive game. i really think that we have a great chance of winning this competition. valencia and roma are both losing at the moment as well. inter in the quarters would be like one of the european nights of old.

           carragher        biscan         hyypia         riise

           murphy           gerrard        hamann       kewell

                                 owen          heskey

Can't really see us winning the match with murphy, heskey and biscan in the team. But since we have to win the match, i would go for 4-3-3.

If heskey plays like a lazy twit, i would sub him with Cheryou or Diouf after 20 mins.

I'd swap Gerrard with for Baros and put Murphy on the right. Still go 4-3-3 though.

Everyone seems quite optimistic about tonight but I think it's gonna be a really tough game. The deciding factor will be Marseilles approach - if they come at us we'll have them, if they frustrate us by sticking 10 men behind the ball all night I'm sorry guys but I think its curtains for us. Let's hope they come at us cos we've got the talent & firepower to beat them.

Houllier made a good point after the first leg when Marseille had being slating us in the press, he just said that Marseille had done his second leg team talk for him.

Lets stuff 'em!!

The best quote GH has made for a long time. He made a lot of great quotes during the treble winning season. Hopefully this is a good omen. :D  :D  :D

My favourite GH quote came in the treble winning season when he'd been lambasted for bringing in a lot of foreigners - "The team here have one nation, and its LIVERPOOL. They speak one language, and its FOOTBALL"

Pity it turned out to be a load of rhetorical boll##ks, but there you go!

i think heskey & murphy playing in the same team is a little too risky. On their day, they are good no doubt. But on their off-days (lets face it, they have more off-days than good ones), they really suck and play as if they don't give a damn.

i'm optimistic because when we desperately need a result we tend to get one. i wasn't that impressed by marseille in the first game to be honest and in all fairness we weren't much better. i just feel that playing away from home suits us tonight. they surely can't sit back being at home, and with the pace we have i think we can cause them problems. remember, marseille are really struggling in the french league aswell.

True, but I feel Murphy is ready to recapture his form of last season.  Bloody hell!!! How optimistic does that sound??

Hope murphy re-captures his form. From player of last season to this, not really sure what had happened to him.

No doubt liverpool had missed his free kick & long-range goals.
and yes, his penalties too

But all will be forgotten if he scores the winner against manure......still a long way for that match though.  :p
