With the latest injuries [Alonso and Kewell] who should start in our up comming games in your opinion?

My choice:

  • Dudek

  • Finnan
  • Carragher
  • Hyypia
  • Traore

  • Nunez
  • Hamann
  • Gerrard
  • Riise

  • Luis Garcia

  • Pongolle

I would play Garcia right behind Pongolle as I think he's most effective when he plays in that position, he's not a midfielder and that's one of the reasons why he's been playing poor imo.

I don't think Riise is injured, a bad knock but nothing more than that

Its not like you to start up ten threads a night AB !! :D

However, I think you may be onto the right path there.

I would play Mellor first, as he offers a bit more "bite" than Ping Pong, which is essential in a striker who will be running the line alone.

Also, what with the possibility of new players this month, I would go with:

GK Buffon

LB Thuram
CB Ayala
CB Carragher
RB Finnan

LM Aimar
CM Gerrard
CM Campo
RM Van De Meyde

STR Anelka
STR Beattie

(The bold writing is all a p1ss take)

In their team, with their style of play he will be a good signing in my view. The danger is that they resort to constant route one as they do on occasions when Ferguson comes on. If they play him as an English style centre-forward with mobility and feed it into him low as well as high then he will be a good player for them. I think he's a lot better than he's shown for the last year or so, at his best he is a good player in my view. Not for us, but for them.

true, but i see as would of better fitted in with villa. Although the bias does run alittle into it, but as you say the best has been shown yet. I think with his abilities he would be able to excel at villa
