Starting 11

with the current squad we have, what would be ur starting 11 and formation for next season?

just would like to see some ideas.

at the moment mine would be :

                 reyna

finnan  carragherr  agger  riise

pennant  gerrard  alonso  kewell

            torres   crouch

i have chosen pennant because towards the end of last season i could really see him getting better and better. aloson infront of mascherano because although they are both quality players we havent actually got mascherano yet permenantly. i would also like to give kewell a couple of games to see how he copes because i also saw an improvement and a few sights of the old harry kewell when he started playing again. i also believe crouch would work better with torres then kuyt and would give torres alot of knock downs to conect to.

I don't know if anyone's told you, but Rafa isn't really one for sticking to the same plan week in week out. He likes this thing called rotation you see, which means he'll have a different team, and often a different formation, every week.

i'd be happy with any side that didn't include kuyt up front.

Reina
Finnan     Carra              Agger        Riise
              Mascherano     Alonso

Gerrard                                        Kewell
                          Torres
                          Crouch

different formation but it would get the best out of players because torres n crouch would be up top together anyway just with Torres dropping off
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

sorry pal, but he's not asking for what side rafa is gonna pick week in week out, he's asking for our personal opinion which is allowed, it's not against the law.

I wasn't saying you can't have your own opinion, I was just stating that the initial question can't be answered unless you specify who the opposition are. For example my best line up against Chelsea would be:

                Reina

Finnan   Carra  Agger   Aurelio

Gerrard  Masch Alonso  Riise

                Torres
                Crouch

Whereas against Derby it would be:

                 Reina

     Carra   Hyypia?  Agger
Finnan                        Riise
           Masch   Alonso
                Gerrard

              Kuyt Torres

well fair enough, now you've explained yourself i understand what you're saying and i apologize for blaming you for having a go at our opinons when you wasnt.

Ahhh, gotta love premature threads.  FFS, we haven't even finished shipping players in and out yet! :D   Don't want to spoil the fun, though, so--on present form--our starting 11 must be:

                       Martin

Finnan         Hobbs     Paletta     Arbeloa

Pennant   Mascherano  Sissoko     Kewell

                 Idrizaj        Torres

Note that we'll have all the goals we need with Masch and Idrizaj in the line-up!
