Aston Villa manager David O'Leary confirmed this afternoon that Liverpool had expressed an interest in signing Nolberto Solano. Villa are the most likely destination for Reds striker Milan Baros, and reports had suggested Liverpool had asked for Solano in part exchange.

According to Aston Villa's official website, avfc.co.uk, Liverpool's enquiry about the Peruvian were instatly rejected. The website quoted O'Leary as saying, "I admire Liverpool's taste, but Nobby is an important part of our plans and will not be going anywhere."

i reckon madrid will wait until we sell baros and then make us sweat. it wouldnt surprise me if they started raising the price and asking for all sorts of first options on players and all that mullarckey.
they drive a hard bargain that madrid, thats for sure.

I know, thats whats worrying me, I'm sure they'll drag it out as long as possible to see if anyone else makes a solid bid.

I think they should respect Owen, he's been professional and never opened his mouth. plsu their making a big profit on what they paid for him  :(

Anyone who seen michael owen tonight knows somethings going on, his mind was NOT on that game, and I will repeat it again since no one has commented on it he was Steven Gerrard in disguise from Euro 2004.
His heads up his @rse he doesnt know what to do, he wants to come back here, he doesnt want to look like a failure, he has took a break thats all it was, weve all done it before us older ones, he had to go abroad otherwise he would have regretted it, and now he is welcomed back by us.
And we need him and thats it, now its up to him, Liverpool and Real.
And it needs sorting a.s.a.p Come on home michael lad, we love ya.

Alan Kennedy said on the radio tonight (legends phone in on Century) he has been told that Owen is coming on Loan tomorrow and we have an option to sign him for £12 million at the end of the season.

i hope he comes back now, at first i thought he bailed out when we needed him most but as you say he was obviously on a low because of our style of play and everyone makes mistakes i suppose.
i think baros was a bit nieve, when he heard barca were in for him he went to the press straightaway saying he`d love to go and they were his boyhood club etc. they went for someone else and then he was left out on a limb with everyone questioning his loyalty, and a few moans later rafa has basically @rsed and collared him out the door. i felt a bit sorry for him when i read he loves our fans and stadium.
