Having a discussion with work colleagues about past sponsors, I am adamant that in the late seventies/early 80's LFC were sponsored by Hitachi and then it was crown paints! Can anyone out there back me up?

Yes you are right;Liverpool were the first team to announce a sponsership deal.Hitachi became the first sponsors name on our shirts in 1979.It lasted 2 or 3 years then Crown Paints took over for a good few years followed by Candy.Last but not least we have Carlsberg.
